Panel by panel to ensure even coverage. For instance: coat the panel then coat the panel again before moving to another area.
You may have to read a few of the introduction threads when the coating was pro only, but none of this is new.
No conspiracies here, Bob...before there was 2.0 there were several threads on the original coating that is pro only. It can be layered immediately after the first coat on a panel by panel basis...mostly to ensure even coverage, but yes it will be measurably thicker. My car beads everywhere, sheets where gravity allows, and if you blow dry water just flys off. The first video I ever posted about Opticoat 3-4 years ago shows this feature. So do yourself a favor before the flamers come for you and use the search feature if you are indeed interested in our coating.
You'll get both. Beads will form everywhere and when air or gravity get involved, it will look like sheeting. Sorry for the confusion. My YouTube is ChrisAtOptimum if you want a video demonstration.
Thanks Chris for your replies! I also appreciate your courteous consideration for my being subjected to "flamers". Also, your suggestion to use the "search feature" is duly noted.
By using the "search feature" (or in this particular case...referrencing my posts on this thread) anyone and everyone would have been aware that I stated:
"I would be delighted one day (soon) to have a Coating such as Opti-Gard, Opti-Coat 2.0, or even one of the other ones, applied to my vehicles. That is why I am following people's progress with these Coatings, with deep interest, for more of these products' information that's being shared".
IMHO... Proof positive I have shown interest in your Coating.
Once again, the "search feature" would have yielded the results of my being "flamed" and my responses to such "flaming". As such, and, by virtue of my current typing/responding, the consequences that I've incurred due to "flaming/responding-to-flaming" are practically nil. Time is the Great Determiner, though.
Probably no conspiracies, but, others seem to have similar feelings I have about the timeliness of information that's presented in regards to not only yours, but other Coatings as well. To wit...A very recent posting by dougaross:
"There have been many posts about OC and its application. I wish somebody had made this more obvious. I would have certainly done it when I applied OC. I assume there is no recovery now"
Conspiratorial or not....
RE: Beading/Sheeting
The description so set forth by you and others can apply to a host of LSP products. Nothing new there. Everybody should know that. However, the impression I have is: Some waxes and sealants exhibit 'more sheeting' than others. I was hoping that Coatings, your included, would fall into the 'more sheeting' category. "Water-Beading", unless removed immediately or as soon as possible, to me, is a harbinger of water-spotting/etching. What I was in hopes of was a more transparent, forthright reply to that concern. That's all.
{
Note: When I speak of disingenuous, an example that comes to mind is when I think of wheel cleaning products that say they contain no HF. The way I look at it is: If those same wheel cleaning products contain ammonium biflouride, (ABF), (or any other chemical names it goes by), then that is, IMHO, being disingenous.}
So yes! I'm still interested in your Coatings. The reasons for my inquiries is: I feel all of my concerns have not, to present date, been fully answered.
As well, I have never bashed/flamed people or any products on this or any other forums, or even in person-to-person contact. These inquiries about Coatings, yours included, should also, by no means, be interpreted as such either. I just rack it up to my inquisitive nature.
Again, Chris, many thanks for your replies.
Bob
