So I spent all weekend getting my wife's car detailed. Had it looking perfect!!! She comes home from work tonight and informs me she hit a deer. Busted the front clip. Overspray city here we come!!!!

search and demand the best body shop!

Truly sorry for your loss :(

Oh man that sucks! I see deer all of the time on my way to work. I just know some day I'm gonna smuck one...

First real detail too. I know it can be fixed but a good body/paint guy around here is hard to find. Bumper cover has already been replaced once and painted again by another guy. Wasn't really happy with either one of them. Third time/shop is a charm maybe.

Could be alot worse but it still sucks.

Maybe add a heavy dose of cheap wax near the areas to be workers on to hinder overspray adhesion?

Damn that sucks. When I drove home after work at night, there is always deers roaming around my neighborhood. I try to drive slower when entering my development.

Wish you good luck finding a good body shop. I had my rear fender painted and I wasn't so happy with the results.

Sorry for this misfortune....I'm sure the damage can be remedied. Glad your Wife is OK, isn't she?

Bob

That stinks. It never fails with my wife, it could go 2 months without rain, be 100 degrees F and she will still find mud somewhere and drive through it. Her commute is almost all interstate, the parts that are not are city streets. :dunno:

After you get it fixed, make sure you inspect it at the body shop. Ask if it's possible to use their inspection lights (if equipped), but they may just use the paint booth lights as inspection lights. Look for sanding marks left in the paint, watch for improper blending, fish eyes, and dirt nibs. Best of luck to you.

I'm sorry for your troubles. I hope your wife is ok.

If it's any consolation... It could be worse, imagine how the deer feels.

That's why they came up with the word accident. These things will occasionally occur and as long as there are no personal injuries everything else can be fixed.

The best of luck to you! :props:

uuuuuggggghhhhhhhh man that sucks man! I'm so sorry. My dad hit a deer and a week later my mom hit a deer...same road....same side....same fender. I wish you luck in finding a really good body shop.

Be grateful. Cars are easily fixed, people less so. Many years ago my wife was in a bad accident and she lost a good bit of function in her legs. She can still walk, just not terribly well. There are worse things in life than a busted front clip.

Thanks guys! She is fine. She said it was a fawn. As mentioned before the front of this car has been a thorn in my side since we purchased it. I hit a retread at night that was laying in the road before the car even had a tag on it. Hasn't been the same since. It will be right this time before the work is paid for!

And I do agree with you Metal. Lots of worse things.
