I have had my PC for about a year now and the other day as I was finishing up a customers truck the handle kept loosening up as I went to tighten it I found out the threads in the housing are stripped WTF?? I did some redneck engineering to get me by and I have JB welded it back in.Hopefully it will hold otherwise it is either helicoil the housing or give up.Am I the only one that this has happened to???

I think most dont use the handle anyways. But heli coil sound looked a good plan

I've owned two type of D/A and both are doing the exact same thing with their handles

Lose the handle and grip at the head of the PC. Gives you more control, and keeps the pad flatter against the surface anyway. My $.02, but obviously do what's best for you. Helicoil would do the trick if you decide to continue with the handle.

Haven't seen this problem brought up on forums over the years, at least not enough to be a bump in the road.

I agree...

Heli-Coil should work to, if you're not set up to do careful drilling and threading consider taking it to you local machine shop see if they'll do it.
