Meg's DA Microfiber Correction System

Whats up guys...

So all day long i've been reading up on the Meg's DA Microfiber correction system and I noticed at the bottom of this page it shows 3" cutting discs and finishing discs...where is the backing plate for this though?

it is an outstanding system. we use it everyday. d300 with the mf disc and on softer paint a foam pad. some paint does well with the finish disc, some needs foam to finish. we use the d301 finish wax as a one step application on minor swirled cars with foam or the mf disc and we use it on new cars. the finish wax is very easy to use and has yet to stain the trim. the compound works good to polish headlights, on clear protective film and to remove paint transfer by hand without to much marring. very versitile products and both easy to use.
for personal use it will take some trial and error. there are some good reviews around that will help the learning curve. I used the system on my car, 2008 pilot 60 days ago and it is still holding up.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I'm looking into this as a system to do weekend jobs. I need something for a quick 1 day job. I need to hone my abilities to be able to pull of one day jobs with quaility work and I'm liking this system. I have a porter cable 7424xp and want to be able to use this system with my current DA. I will look into the products you use. What do you use and how do you clean the pads? I've watched the video's on this and have seen air hose and the pad brush.

What color is your pilot? I have the steel blue metallic and have a hard time getting it to "pop"

Look into Sonus...I just used it on my Acura and when I used SFX-3 the blue flakes really "popped" and stood out significantly. I didn't even realize it had blue flakes in it. SFX-3 and SFX-4 really deepen the paint's color.
 
I love the MF system. I think it is very capable to say the least. I dry sanded a section (2"x2") of a car with 1000g sand paper purposly trying to gouge the paint just to have some fun. The MF system took it out in one pass.

It cuts very well and normally finishes very well. The finishing wax is very easy to use as well and I also use it as a one step on cars not getting more correction.

I definitely recommend having it in your aresnal!

Awesome! Thanks for the review. So for one steppers would you just clay, cleanse, and then just use the finishing wax?
 
Ya on quick one steppers I wash, clay, and then lightly polish with the finishing wax. Megs d151 has more cut so if you need more cut and still want an aio then pick some of that up but on cars that need minor correction the finishing wax is perfect.
 
i have a silver pilot, it didnt need correcting but I wanted to see what I could do. Since I didnt have to correct much the d300 finished out very well so the d301 finish wax got it to sparkle. I used the finish wax on all the trim, and mudflaps to see if it would stain. It did not.
I use air to clean the pads. That is the best way if you have it available.
To get the system to pop it takes some learning how to finish the cut process. KBM methods work well.

I just purchased a new Z06..black. Thank gawd, its only been in the showroom, and none of the dealership clowns put a buffer on it. It does, however have the usual micro-marring from washing, dusting, etc.

I am very skilled with a rotary- but see no reason to induce buffer trails or the finesse and work you need to put in to use a rotary on black.

I have a early model PC D/A but I'm thinking about either trying the new Meg's MF system with a new Flex machine, or buying a new flex and using my tried and familiar foam pad systems.

Any recommendations??

too many variables with the different types of paint for clear cut answers. If your car is in that good of condition you dont need the mf system. the flex does not do well with mf discs.
5" pads on your old pc will be very capable of taking care of your vehicle if it is just micro marring you need to deal with

How many section passes did you have to use with this system?
