I ordered some Black Diamond tire dressing and... was having problems applying it to my

tires. I searched the forum and now have a question. Should the gel be "milky" or

"clear"? I wouldn't say it's like water but i was surprised how thin it was. Probably would

have just kept using it if it wasn't for finding others who recieved "bad" product.

Feed back please

I have 2 bottles of Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel and both of mine exhibit similar characteristics. Both are milky in color and are very thin as well. The temperature in my shed is just a bit over 80 degrees so temperature isn't coming into play here.

Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel is truly a gel and ruby red in color. While it does become thinner in higher temperatures it is transparent and could be classified as a gel while the Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel is NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A GEL...

If this is a defective product both of mine are defective as well.............

Mine was Carmel/gray in color and when I put it on the tire pad it stays in a line, like mustard, I wipe in with one swipe of the finger (in my glove) and put it on the tire.

Used it today. They say a little goes a long way so that is the way I used it.

If I am wrong let me know but the results are pretty good on the tire. I just used it on my daily driver today and the wife’s car last week. Put two coats on her vehicle as it does not get driven but once or twice a week. 2 coats did look a little better.

Thanks

Quite some time ago I did a test of 5 different tire products and Wolfgang Black Diamond was among them. I received it as a free sample and could have sworn it was a Red Gel much like Pinnacle Black Onyx.

I'm sitting here scratching my head and decided to open and pour a full bottle into a clean glass jar; here is what it looks like...

Brand New Bottle and it poured like water..

Look familiar to anyone??

Hey bobbyG, my tire dressing looks the same as yours. This is probably correct. I will use

the tip of rubbing the dressing into the applicator with my finger though. Good tip!:props:

True. Maybe someone from AG can weigh in an this to see if its right.

After posting my photos I took yesterday afternoon I also sent a PM to Meghan pointing her to this thread and also the apparent non-gel solution many of us have been discovering. I asked if this is typical of what they have in stock there and if this is what the product should look like, loose and separated..

As soon as I hear something I'll post it here...:props:

I have 2 gallons of the wolfgang and mine is clear. It is the consistancy of syrup but more on the clear side. Hmm... I would like to see what AG says. I dont care, mine is working just fine but am now just curious.

The same goes for the two bottles in my arsenal. Clearer, milkier and it practically falls off the applicator when using it. However, it does leave a nice, long lasting look.

I got a 2oz sample and the color is the same as in the jar pic, but i'd say the texture is a bit like runny snot... It's thin but has "elastic" properties. Also when the bottle is left sitting for a while it will separate in a white layer on top and a darker layer under, but it mixes right back when shaken. It works very well. Sorry for the mental images :D

In my mind / opinion, this isn't what I'd classify as a Gel, it's more like loose congealed gravy... sort of...

I did hear back from Meghan and this is her response:

"Wolfgang used to be a gel a while back but hasn't been for a long time. What you have is the current version."

So here you have it boys and girls, the photos I posed are the current formulation of Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel..

Good to know! Thanks. Actually happy its "good" product because its performing well. I

live on a dirt road and with this product not only do my tires look great but the dust falls

back off once I drive it on pavement a few miles.

This is great as it works really well so far.

Thanks for the quick anwsers. :dblthumb2:

Just did a search and found this thread. I just finished up my old bottle which was clear and thick. I loved it.

Opened up a bottle I got on bogo and it was the milky thin consistency like was mentioned. From my experience it's durability isn't as good as it use to be. It's now much easier to apply however I prefer the old formula. Looks like I maybe getting some pinnacle black onyx. It's similar to the old formula of wolfgang.
