Poorboys QD+ Spray

My weekend toy is black and I like it to look dark and wet. To that end I've been using Megs Gold Class (LSP) because of the wet shine it leaves. Unfortunately nature likes to cover up that shine with dust, pollen and bird crap. Thats where I find a quick wash and a quick detailer come in handy. There are alot of quick detail sprays that are good for a quick wipe down to remove dust or bird crap. My limited experience is that most leave you with what you had before the dust in terms of appearance. There's nothing wrong with that, but what if you could get more? Recently I started using Poorboys QD+ Spray. Unlike other quick detailers, it leaves a black car looking darker, richer and wet. It does require a little more care in its application then a standard quick detailer. As opposed to just a spary on and wipe off, you need to buff a little as you would with a quick wax, but not to the same degree. So if you're looking for something that packs a little more punch then a standard QD, but doesn't require as much dilligence as a quick wax, I think you'll be very happy with this product.:xyxthumbs:

I tried this stuff a couple years ago and hated the mess it leaves behind. IMO you can't spray enough on the paint to safely remove dust without having a smearing mess to deal with. Its more like a spray wax than it is a QD.

I agree 100%. This product would streak like crazy on my black car. I could never get the hang of it.

I'd have to agree with Dwayne here, and I found that Megs Last Touch and Crystal Mist seem to work better.

This is the only Poorboy's product I've come across that I've not been thrilled with. I have the Spray and Gloss detailer, but I've not used it yet.

Lucky you, I have yet to find one PB product that thrills me. I find the brand to be more like a cheap OTC.

I tried the PB QD Plus (grey color) and wwasn't impressed. A couple of months ago I received the PB QD (green color) as a sample and found it to work much better.

I prefer Poorboy's Spray and Gloss ........ it makes the color pop just a bit more IMHO

I tried it again the other night after a wash on my car..it just left a big messy streaky film all over that was a pain to clean off..i had to use another QD to get it off..looks like I wont use it again.

I couldn't get the film with a QD, had to use GG Paint Prep. I did like this stuff at first when all my detailing was done outside, didn't have streaking as bad, maybe the sun helped it flash or something. I did like their Spray & Wipe, it was my first WW and it worked really well but I've since moved on.

They must have changed the formula. Mine is purple and smells like grape soda. I start with a dry car and I do one section at a time and wipe dry. If you try to do too much at once or try to use a damp MF to dry you will get streaks. Even then, just respray and buff dry.
Or, never mind what I just said. Don't let that nasty stuff take up space in your garage. Just send it to me. :xyxthumbs:

I have used both and prefer the spray and gloss from poorboys to the qd+,much easier to deal with on black car. I now use the qd+ on my rims on my 2011 cruze eco.Maybe the qd+ is okay to deal with on light colors like silvers and golds and light blues (metallics) but it was tough to buff without smearing on previous car (2008 chevy cobalt ss black clearcoat)

After reading this thread I went out to the garage to spray the car down with this PB QD+, and it reminded me why I never use it anymore!! Streaks a lot, and if I am correct the proper way to use the QD is to lubricate the dust and dirt from the paint so it lifts into the MF. With this QD it doesn't seem possible. Megs Last Touch Works better.

I think the reason that it is working for me is that I'm starting with a clean car and using more as a QW then a QD. That way I can use it sparingly. Sorry if that caused any confusion. It really does look great when used that way. I find it easier to apply than a QW but looks better then the Mother's QW or the Megs QD.
