Title suggestions for first e-book?

If you've ever read any of the titles for some of my articles you can tell I'm title-challenged...

Here's some examples...

How to break open a coating of wax and remove it by creeping out...

Kissing the Finish

The Rule of Thumb

Fight or Flight Method for Gaging Surface Temperature

Fresh Paint - But you can touch it...

The Lesson White Paint Teaches Us

The story of 3 H's - Horrendous, Horror Story and Hack Detailers...

The power in the after shots is created in the before shots

The Cruel Test Spot - This or that? - Reverse Bait & Switch

Your Signature - Don't leave one...

So I thought I would start a thread to see if any of my forum friends have any suggestions... I'm a HUGE fan of brainstorming.

The goal is to pick a title that tells a person what the book is about so they'll know it's something that will help them when detailing their car or stepping up from working by hand to working by machine.

Dedicated to the DA Polisher
The topic of this first e-book is specifically how to use a DA Polisher to buff out a car. This would include these tools and any other similar tools,

  • Porter Cable 7424XP and all previous versions
  • Meguiar's G110v2 and all previous versions
  • Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher
  • Shurhold Dual Action Polisher
  • Kestrel DAS-6
  • DAS-6 PRO
  • DeWALT DW443

It's very detailed and covers pretty much anything anyone new to machine polishing would want and/or need to know to get professional results the first time and every time.

There's lots of tips and techniques for experienced DA users too...

Here's a few ideas I've typed out... the last three are in part branding as I've seen other authors of how-to books on this topic have titled their books.

  • Detailing for Newbies
  • DA Polishers for Newbies
  • Learn to machine polish for a show car shine
  • How to machine polish your from top to bottom
  • How to restore a factory new finish
  • How to restore a show car finish
  • Detailing your car made easy
  • The fast and easy way to detail your car
  • The art of polishing paint with a Dual Action Polisher
  • How to polish your car's paint by machine
  • How to create a show car finish on your car
  • The lazy man's guide to detailing your car
  • How to machine polish your car by Mike Phillips
  • How to detail your car by Mike Phillips
  • How to use a DA Polisher to create a show car shine by Mike Phillips

Here's my article on branding if you haven't read it...

Giving due credit where credit is due...
There are places where I reference some of our forum members for their tips in this e-book.

Detailing for Dumbies?? or will that get you legal with the people that make books for dumbies

How about "How To Detail...The Right Way!" or "The Detailers Detail to Detailing"

keep it simple...."The Art of Polishing" by Mike Phillips ...is very effective

I lile the last one but I would say: DA Polishing To Create A Show Car Finish by...

keep it simple...."The Art of Polishing" by Mike Phillips ...is very effective

The first how-to book I self-published was titled "The Art of Polishing Paint by Mike Phillips" with a subtitle.

Since this is a series with the first on on the DA Polisher here's how this could work...

The Art of Polishing Paint by Mike Phillips
A User's Guide for the DA Polisher

Including,
  • Porter Cable 7424XP and all previous versions
  • Meguiar's G110v2 and all previous versions
  • Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher
  • Shurhold Dual Action Polisher
  • Kestrel DAS-6
  • DAS-6 PRO
  • DeWALT DW443

And then Yancy would add some cool graphics.

Then the next one could be titled,

The Art of Polishing Paint by Mike Phillips
A User's Guide for the Rotary Buffer

and so on...

Again... just brainstorming at this point.

:)

I like the last option you just mentioned Mike (Art of...)
But because of the possible intended market i might go with something less glamorous. I wouldn't use the word newbie though. I know everyone uses it but that's just me.

Edit: Bamaboy007 FTW!!! LOL

HHHHHmmmm....adding to this post...how about "Keeping It Simple Guide To Detailing"

Thanks Mike, but you must remember the first part of the title, the entire thing needs to be called "Wax on, Wax off...How NOT to be a DA with your DA" bwahahahahahahaha....but seriously I like it!!!!!
