Forum member, Chris (1MZsLastForever), stopped by my shop yesterday for some headlight restoration. I did the restoration and then applied Optimum Opti-Guard to seal the deal.

Thanks for watching!

He mentioned a concern for damaging his engine if he attempted to detail his engine bay so I gave him some pointers on that too. I did a basic detail on the engine bay.

Haha oh man. My 15 minutes of fame

Thanks for the great work Garry, I really appreciate it. The headlights and engine bay came out great. :dblthumb2:

Nice work Garry. I wish I could do headlights and engines all day everyday

Another great Garry Dean production! :dblthumb2:

What are your thoughts on Opti Guard vs Opti Coat for headlight coating?

thanks! I have never used the Opti-Coat 2.0. The pro version, Opti-Guard, cures faster and harder, so I just use that.

Its awesome.

Hey Gary,
I've been watching your videos and you are very good at what you do and I've definitely been learning from watching.

On this headlight restoration, you used something that no one seems to talk about and I've always wondered how it would work. That purple wool pad on a da. After seeing what comes in the Meguiar's headlight kit, the wool pad on a drill, that had me thinking that if that worked, then a 4" wool pad on a da should work too. I've never had much luck with the drill & pad combo, but I have had luck with Meguiar's 4" burgundy and 105.

I use the Flex 3401 and Griot's 6" buffer set up for small pads. Would you mind sharing your experience using wool pads on a da, especially the 4".

My only experience with wool on a d/a is with the pfw. They work very well. They cut nice and they finish better than what you might imagine a wool pad would finish like.

Did someone say, "BUMP?" Okay...:bump2:BUMP!! :D

Sure was nice of you to help him out Garry.

One suggestion though...if he's going to be in any more of your videos you should really consider getting a milk crate to stand on...jeez Louise he's tall.
