Are PoorBoy's products the only detailing products safe to work them on the sun/heath conditions?

I live in an apartment complex and is increasingly challenging to find any shade with power and water available.

Thanks!

Pinnacle XMT are all sun safe.

Most Megs products can have their applications tweaked to work in the sun.

Thanks guys

Can you elaborate more on how can I tweak the Megs products to work in the sun? Thanks :xyxthumbs:

Work smaller sections, don't work them as long, adding a spritz of water to the pad on the polisher to extend the working time, etc.

Things like above are what I do as I am constantly working in the sun. :xyxthumbs:

I second Shawn. If you cannot avoid the sun for working on the paint, work as small a section as humanly possible. Don't let the stuff sit on the paint too long.

As other have said, many products are usable in the sun but the instructions for use are clearly stated on the container. Always read the write-ups here and the application instructions are on each page.

Hi, JRivers:

I would tell you one short story about waxing or detailing in the sun. When I was going to law school in the early 80's I lived in an apartment and had to wax my Chevy Luv pickup (red) in the sun. No choice. Tried to keep it simple. Used Mequiars products mostly. Paint faded, and once it started, it just kept going. Of course, since my story took place in the 80's, there have been a lot of advances in car care.

If you can find something that says it is a new synthetic product safe for use in the sun, and it comes in maybe a spray bottle so it is very liquidy and can be wiped quickly, that might be your best bet.

Maybe you should think about getting/using a canopy.....Just a thought. :)

Every time I think sun it's time for Poorboys so haven't done much exploring. Never been disappointed.

Optimum products are also marketed as sun or shade. I haven't come across a polish or compound that I couldn't make work in direct sun. Some I have tried are very much a pain to work with but I got the job done with great results none the less. I find that when using a mist of water to rehydrate a polish or compound, it is much easier to mist the panel and then pick the water up with the pad rather than misting the pad itself. The canopy suggestion is a great one too.

Bob,

A canopy is a very simple solution for keeping the surface finish cool and also the guy performing the work...:props:

Thanks guys! I do have access to shade but then there is no power, the place the I can reach with power has no shade...so the canopy may be my only option. I've being using PB products and worked great (polish dusted a little but I guess that is normal).
I did not know about the XMT or the Optimum products tough :props:

I can't imagine doing a complete detail in the sun. The car might be fine. I on the other hand would be lying down dead next to it. I put a Shelter Logic canopy up in my back yard. I am also looking to get an EZup portable canopy for going mobile.

Scott, last time took me 7 hrs (just the exterior)...had to start very early AM to avoid the worst part...still I was wiped afterwards, but totally satisfied :D
My wife and I are looking into buying our first place...she knows that I need a place for detailing, oh yeah, its a deal beaker :)

Megs NXT2.0 worked out great last time I used. But must add Mark-V Dazzle. It went on and off butter smooth on a bright, sunny day. While Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine went concrete at and instance.

Tried Poorboys Natty's Blue Paste once but it wasn't that easy under the sun, though were nowhere hard to use.
