I thought I’d start this thread for everyone to share accidentally self-inflicted injuries. It’s a dangerous world out there! Whether the injury occurred during a detail or while you relaxing on the porch.
I’ll start:
I was "playing" with a pocket knife just yesterday. Opening and closing, opening and closing. The last time I swung it close, I noticed the blade stopped a bit short of closing all of the way…as if something was in the way of the blade….....it was my pinky… Them Kershaws are sharp!:props:

Ouch... hurt...neuralgia... pain...suffering...
PS: note to self: don't do that again!

When I was working construction I shot myself in the foot with a framing nailer. hurt more coming out than going in.

I will always wonder why I "fell" for that woman that became my first wife. What a pain that became...so relieved when that pain subsided. :)

I put a Senco SN-70 (16 penny nail) right through my hand once. I feel your pain there upon removal.

Then there was the time I fell, well actually tumbled down the Tuscarora Mountain (hence the name Tuscarora Dave) My dog Jack ran right down the mountain behind me. She wasn't hurt but it took me a year to recover from that one. That was almost 7 years ago. I haven't picked up a drink in over 6 years. Tumbling down the rocky side of a mountain and landing in a creek at the bottom brings a whole new meaning to "Rock Bottom".

I once did the same with a Kershaw pocket knife and sliced into my finger to the bone. Yes, those knives are amazingly sharp, but for that reason they are one of the best around. You just can't afford to have a mental lapse when using them.

One day I was checking out a Kershaw Pocket knife on the Snap-On truck and the Snap-On lady say's "Be careful they are sharp." I rolled my eyes at her just before slicing the tip of my finger near clean off. I felt pretty stupid as she said "I told you so".

A few months back I was cutting open some boxes. I had just changed the razorblade in my cutter. i layed my hand on top of the box to hold it steady. I began to cut the top off the box...not remembering i had a new blade the knife went through the box so fast that i couldnt control where the blade went and it ended up slicing through my thumbs like a hot knife through butter. It really didnt hurt much...but the shock of seeing my thumb split lengthwise right through my fingernail was kinda brutal.I literally made a filet out of my thumb. 5 stitches later i still have it all intact...was very lucky

I have several scars with stories haha.

Here's one. Me and my dad went to and electronical supply store and I can out with a neat industrial computer type fan, maybe 150-180mm diamter. My dad rigged it up so it could be plugged into a wall and I played with it. Like strapping lego dudes to it and such.

Anyways, one day before school, was playing with it and put my left index finger on the center bit and had it off center so it wobbled fast. Finger slipped into the fan and made a lovely gash in my finger that sent me to the ER.

A few weeks before the police academy was over with, I was playing laser tag (of all things) and rolled my left foot, breaking the outer metatarsal bone. I had to run a 400m sprint a week later which re-broke it, and THEN do a 1.5 mile run after that...it kinda hurt!

Was mountain biking a couple weeks ago down in Miami and fell, spraining my big toe on my other foot. My feet hate me lately, lol.

Just a few minutes ago I walked into my garage door that was only half open. Cut my forehead open.

I was washing one of the cars inside turned quick while taking a step forward and bam!!!

like "erock" i did it with a razor knife recently. tired and in a hurry to open an ag package i forgot the new blade and cut towards myself and went right up my forearm. er guy said it looked like a bad suicide attempt.

Was so hard core about training MMA - I even trained when injured badly ..... now I am 28 with a body falling apart (knees, rotator cup, face lol) - self inflicted injuries for sure :(

I was changing the blade on a scraper for a flat top grill and the screw driver slipped. I cut all of the nerves and didn't know I had done it until I could feel the blood on my forearm. Lost feeling in a lot of my hand.

one of my self inflicted injurys was when i was working at a cemetery in myrtle beach, i had to grab a large headstone plate(type that goes into ground not freestanding) and we had a certain trailer to grab the plate up with some tong things, well i picked the 450lb stone up and was about to set it down. so i had my arm holding the winch handle and used my fingers to flip the switch so i could have my other arm making sure the stone comes down flat on the trailer, well as soon as i flip the switch the handle slips stone falls down and the winch handle was spinning pretty fast and smacked me right in the forehead, blood running down my face and i didn't realize it. of course they sent me to the hospital because i was talking like i was severely drunk, was slurring my words ect ect and turns out i gave myself a concussion..never really hurt though because i was laughing after the incident and didn't realize the extent of the damage...but man i loved that job for the most part. was very peaceful and the customers don't complain! HA!

I once had a customer who had a pepper spray key chain. I dropped the keys just right, and nuked myself. Worst 20 minutes of my life.
