Wife just got a new...

Maybe if I post a bunch of random crap and run up my post count too, then I would appear to know what I'm talking about.

Well you just did and we can see that you don't!

Post count run up? Come on Richard! Your better than that... lol...

I was certainly surprised by his comment, one of the more rude and uncalled for I've seen on this forum and pretty surprising....but then again maybe not.

You, but it's just a joke, chill out. You're a helpful guy, everyone sees it. :)

A joke huh, throw out some BS comment like that then it's just a joke??

Looks like everything alive and well in the 2nd grade...

Typically a pretty civil site. Guess some folks have Mondayitis. Thanks for not getting carried away, BobbyG. Not sure why you would be told to "chill out" when all you did was ask a simple question of who it was directed at. Oh well. There's plenty of room for opinions, folks. No need to get cranky.

OP-
Really nice vehicle. Good luck with it. I think Bleach-white is fine. Just be sure to rinse well, don't let it dry on the wheel. As you have already learned, wipe down the dressing after applying and letting dry for a few minutes. Polish the wheels with whatever is handy. That's my two cents.

to the Op Mothers foaming all wheel and tire cleaner is very affective and is available otc.

As far as dressings Opti-bond 1:1 is my got to.

Ok, On Tuesday, I thoroughly washed the wheels and tires on Lacrosse with blech white and simple green (heavily diluted). Then I washed the car with Mothers California gold car wash. Followed by a thorough drying with all terry towels for the big water and then with MF towels for everything else. I then clay barred the entire car and clay barred the wheels. I suppose clay barring the wheels was probably overkill but I thought "why not". Then I inspected the paint and was very happy as I should, since it was a new car and all. Paint was in excellent shape IMHO. I then put a thin coat of Mothers Syn Wax on the car and the wheels. I used Meg's endurance tire dressing on the tires and wiped off the excess. That really helped with the sling off!

I don't have before's of the car but I did snap a pic of it afterwards. Needless to say, I started with a pretty nice canvas...Just want maintain it.

I looking for a Lacrosse CXS to replace my daily driver, nice rides indeed. I only use ARO (Amazing RollOff) to clean my tires specifically. I then use a safe wheel cleaner to clean rims properly along with a Daytona Brush.

I never thought we would have a Buick sitting in our garage, aside from a Grand National!:dblthumb2:. But this isn't your grandmothers Buick. This is a youthful sporty ride. Plenty of room for 4 people to travel anywhere. We looked at the CXS, but couldn't justify the extra expence for the few options you would get. We got the CXL Quicksilver Metallic with Black Leather interior. I went on ahead and purchased a set of Digi-fit Weathertech floor mats and had the windows tinted. Couldn't go any darker than 27% on the windows.

She is smoking now.

So the comment I made the other day was 100% a joke. Even more so if you break it down:

First part of statement - "Maybe if I post a bunch of crap and run up my post count" - meaning if I just make a bunch of random posts it will run up my post count...

Second part of statement - "then it will appear that I know something too" - some people look at high post counts thinking this person really knows what's going on...

So if you took offense to it then you are seriously too sensitive and need to lighten up. Have we ever had a negative run in with each other? Absolutely not. Have we ever crossed paths in a thread causing anger, fighting, etc.? No. So why would you think that all of a sudden I would just lash out at you in a serious manner? Rarely do I ever do so seriously. People joke around all the time but apparently you can't handle this.

Well you just did and we can see that you don't!

You got me there, I'm clueless when it comes to detailing...

I find the biggest benefit of Wesley's Bleche-White is how well it cleans up raised white letters. Don't see much need for black-wall tires- on them I just spray a little extra wheel cleaner on the rubber and wash together, avoiding an extra step when it's really not needed.

Eagle 1 all wheel/tire cleaner is great stuff. Spray scrub and rinse. dress with your favorite tire dressing.

Remember that wheel cleaners strip wax. Use your soap and mit first.

That is such a nice ride. Good luck with it.

By the way, you may already know this but it's not a good idea to dry the car with terry towels. They can mar the finish. Since you clayed it after it didn't matter as much but normal washes you should blow it. You can use wet-vac or leaf blower. Pretty cheap at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Not trying to be a know it all. Just want to help you keep that thing a beauty for a long time.

Agreed. I will use soap and mit from now on since I have sealed the wheels. It should make them easier to clean.

Thank you!

I use a mixture of terry cloth to catch the big water and MF to catch everything else. No issues with the terry cloth on my end.

Like BobbyG said, if you wash the wheels regularly, soap and water works fine. I just wash the wheels with the soapy water left over after washing the car. Seems to work fine.

Having said that, I disagree with the post that said Simple Green is too harsh. No, it isn't, and you can buy it by the gallon, and dilute it to whatever concentration you want, and put it in a spray bottle and use it that way. Have used it on tires and wheels. But mostly just use dilute soap and water.

I just put in the new WeatherTech Digi-Fit floor mats. The fit is superb!
