New products lines are constantly being added to the site. Last week was no different with the addition of the Blackfire line of car care products. Of all the product lines added to the Autogeek store in the last several months, I think most of us will agree that Blackfire was one of the most anticipated. Blackfire has a product for every square inch of your car, inside and out. Metal polishing? Check. Paint correction? Check. Interior cleaning and conditioning? Check. Blackfire products feature the latest in surface care technology to ensure they perform with the best in the industry.

Of all the Blackfire products available, their flagship sealant - Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, is the most talked about. It is without question the most anticipated and the most sought after Blackfire product. Those who have heard about it keep asking Is it that good?

The minute Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection was within walking distance, I had a bottle sitting on my desk. I didn't want to test Blackfire Wet Diamond on just any color vehicle, my heart was set on black. I found a donor vehicle and didn't waste any time. As soon as the weekend arrived, my friend's black Corolla was parked in the driveway eager for a coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond.

My friend's Toyota is meticulously maintained so no correction work was needed. To ensure the best performance, look, and durability was achieved with the Wet Diamond, I prepped the paint using the Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish. The polish was applied using a Porter Cable 7424xp with a Lake Country Hydro-Tech Tangerine Polising Pad, and the Sealant was applied on the same machine but with a Lake Country CCS Red Wax Pad.

After priming the Tangerine pad to ensure even coverage of the Gloss Enhancing Polish, I applied four dime size drops of product on the pad, set the 7424xp on speed 5 and went to work. What I noticed immediately about this polish is how far a little bit of product goes, and the fact that it wipes off like a high end carnauba paste wax. This is a comparison that you don't hear often when talking about a polish.

The Gloss Enhancing Polish cleaned up the paint nicely and now the surface had been properly prepped and ready for the Wet Diamond Sealant. It's important to use the Gloss Enhancing Polish prior to applying the sealant because it ensures the sealant will bond properly so you get the most durability and shine out of the sealant.

The Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection was applied using a Lake Country CCS Red Wax Pad on the 7424xp set to speed 4.

I had previously heard that Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection went on thin, but I never expected it to go on this thin. The initial amount that I applied to the pad was more than enough product to do nearly half the car. After completing the entire car, I let the sealant dry to a haze for about fifteen minutes then wiped it off using a Cobra Microfiber Towel. Blackfire Wet Diamond is one of the easiest sealants to remove. When applied thin it wipes off effortlessly.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

After using these two products and seeing the results for myself, I can't tell you how enthusiastic I am about having the complete line of Blackfire products now available at Autogeek. The Blackfire line is a great addition to an already outstanding selection of quality car care products available at Autogeek, and you know what they say - Don't Just Turn Heads, Create WHIPLASH!

Very nice Nick. Any reason why you didn't use a red HT pad? I have both, but never used the HT red pad and was wondering if they perform the same. Will the HT pad absorb less sealant?

I've been using this stuff for about a year now and I have to say the All Finish Paint Protection is probably my all-time favorite product for detailing.

The ONLY gripe I have about this stuff is that it's impossible to clean out of your pads so you'll need to have a dedicated pad for the sealant.

i apply my BFWD with a red HT pad..It spreads nice and evenly. Little goes a long way..I use 2 very tiny pea drops on the pad for each panel and it covers it well. I cant compare the absorption between that and a red CCS since I never used the BFWD with a red CCS

:props:Thanks, it's funny that I have used the red ccs pad with Blackfire, but not the red HT pad. Maybe we should see who used the most or the least. :buffing:

For a liquid wax or sealant, I prefer the less dense CCS pads, such as the red, blue, gray, or gold. I use the Hydro-Tech Crimson for all my paste waxes. :hungry:

Used the gray CCS with the BFWD Seal on my last attempt.

Currnetly using the Menzerna Polish before the seal but this post is making me want some more Blackfire.

I have used both with sealants and if there is any difference in abosrbtion between the two is is very minute. I also feel that Nick used too much product initally(but he said he was able to do half the vehicle) so perhaps the CCS does hold the excess better untill needed when acidentally over applied.

Jim,

You're correct, I didn't mean to apply that much product onto the pad at first but it was a little tricky trying to get a picture but at the same time not have product dispensing out of the bottle. But it was plenty of product to complete about half of the vehicle. Blackfire Wet Diamond is one of the thinnest spreading sealants that I've used and overall it's a pleasure to work with.

Thanks for the write up, Nick. Looks really good. And it doesn't sound like you had to break your butt. Maybe another one to try out. Will you be adding some Blackfire products to the samples for purchase?

Its kind of funny when you think that only a few months ago, the mere mention of BF products on this forum...rolled more than a few eyes. Now it seems the BF products are just too cool.

BTW...Mr Helme has announced that BF will be introducing 12 new products at SEMA...so I would expect to see some BF "specials" prior to the release of the new line.

I'm hoping BF comes out with an AIO...I seem to be using these types of products more and more, as they keep getting better and better.

I gotta pick up some BFWD on my next order!

Nick, tell your friend I love his Corolla., I have an '07 Red Corolla. He keeps it looking good :)

The car belongs to a good friend of mine who also works at Autogeek. Usually every Saturday after work we get together and test new products on our cars. I like his Corolla especially because the paint is in excellent shape and it's BLACK.

I applied a certain paste wax on his car last night, and just to give you a hint of what it was....the paint shimmers with depth under the midnight sun. :props:

Thanks Nick,Just what i was planning on using this week end. After applying BFGEP how long to cure for BFWD?

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish is not a sealant so there is no curing time. Apply Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection immediately after and prepare to create whiplash. :dblthumb2:

Thanks again Nick, I have a new Grey Jeep Grand Cherokee with no paint correction needed. I will be using Lake Country Hydro-Tech 7/8 ''x 5 1/2'' for Blackfire Gloss enhancing polish what pad tangerine or crimson?

I would recommend the Tangerine, which is what I used in the article. :dblthumb2:

I just ordered this on Memorial Day weekend and cant wait till next weekend to detail my black car. I will be sure to post pictures. Thanks for the great write up Nick :D

I applied BF wet diamond all paint protection to my car yesterday once again but this time I did it like this, started at the front, applied it and worked my way to the back w/o removing it and once the entire car was covered, I then and only then removed it and it looked great!! I did this in the shade and the product came off soooooo easy, I also applied it to the glass as well, I always do this with all of my products (expect Klasse SG) and it just makes good sense to me. Because its so easy to use I find myself applying many coats, I just like my car looking its best all the time and BF makes this a reality for me. I also mix in the Crystal Seal as well, talk about ease of use, wipe on and walk away, doesn't get much easier than that!

Keep up the great work BF, looking forward to what's coming next!
