anyone know of a snow brush that wont scratch my car? or do i have to bite the bullet and do a major detail/scratch removal come next spring? right now i have the typical one with the brush on one side and scraper on the other and my car's black so i'll know what to expect next spring. the bristles feel like a pushbroom, not the mohair one but ones that shouldnt even be used on wheel brushes either. ive also seen those blades where you can ow off but i dont know what i should buy. id like to think that sand/salt is not as damaging as scratchy bristles/blades but who knows, in this world, anything's possible. any suggestions/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I thought they used to sell the Oxo Twister snow brush here (I think I got mine at ACC, it was some years ago), but I don't see it here anymore. It has flagged bristles so they are pretty soft, but you need to make sure they don't wear out, and of course dirty snow (or clean snow on a dirty car) can still scratch.

There's also the Sno Brum which is a foam contraption, some people like that. Maybe we should ask Meghan to beef up on the selection of winter tools for those of us that don't work underneath palm trees...

I Agree, we need a Large winter tool selection. Chicagoland is gunna be a mess sooner than later.

Would a water blade work? Or do those make scratches?Doesn't snow where I live but just an idea,I assume you just want to get the snow off the windows.

You pretty much have to get it off of the hood too, cuz once you start driving any snow on the hood starts flying on your window. Be happy you don't have snow.

As far as the water blade, i don't think it would be strong enough to move the snow.

For the windshield and windows etc I use my brush and scraper. When it comes to the hood I use my arm and either pull or push the snow and with a slick surface it generally slides right off.

Ice is another thing and that usually melts off during the night after I put my truck undercover.

We're all after the same thing; minimal damage throughout the winter..:props:

waterblades are real bad. ya they scratch like hell on the paint. for the window/ice i have this spray from prestone that melts ice but doesnt harm paint. it thins out the ice and whatnot, but im more concerned about my paint. i mean if anything and everything is going to scratch along with the crap on the roads i might as well just go all out in the spring, i mean i know how to compound even though its a big job. i might try the snow brum only because i dont want to lean against the car with the zipper of my winter jacket. (thats what i call thinking ahead) ;-)

walmart selling one similar in or near auto section
Angel-Guard 73100 - Snow Broom

I have one of these I use on my vehicles.. the secret is leave a little snow on th surface and let mother nature melt the rest.

The Mustang stays in the garage for winter. The Edge is garaged, the Jeep is my automotive alleycat, because she stays out al night!

i dunno i gotta disagree. last time i was lazy and left a little on the car, one time i got pulled over, and the other time i was frozen out of my car and couldnt get in. thats when my dad got me that prestone ice melter spray but still. im talking about also like if im at the store or at work or out and about period. just want to be prepared and at the same time care for the new car as much as possible through its first winter.

One thing ya gotta remember is that snow may look all soft and pretty, but as it falls it collects all sorts of atmospheric with it.

So, snow in itself can scratch...make sense?

Bill

i know im going to have alot of marks and scratches come springtime's full detail. im just concerned about the tool im going to be using to remove the snow. its not a show car by any means, as it is a daily driver and it looks fantastic for its age and i want to keep it that way for as long as possible thats all.
