Hey all!
Well i ran into a problem the other day. Was detailing a car when my LC orange pad kinda shredded out. I had another but i dont like to ever work without knowing i have another pad on hand. I always order all my supplies off the site, but shipping is kinda expensive and when your in a bind like i was you dont have 5 days to wait for the product to come in. I live in the suburbs of chicago and i was wondering if anyone knew of any stores that sell good detailing supplies. I know most of the auto stores sell it but you cant really get LC foam pads or any foam pads of that sort from them. Looking for more of an industrial supply place that has a better selection and more commercial product rather than supplies for the guy who just washs his car on the weekend. Thanks everyone!

Sorry I cannot help you, but I am very interested to see where people around here are getting stuff locally. I have yet to find a place near me (Lake in the Hills / Algonquin area)

I would be interested in this as well. I have ordered all my stuff from autogeek but it would be nice to know there is somewhere to get stuff locally in case of emergency.

Unfortunately I have only found one local place that sells products for the pc. There is a place called Finishline Performance here in Naperville that sells Adams products and I emailed them once asking what they have and I think they told me they have the pads. I couldn't tell you how they work though, since I have never used them.
You could always try some detail shops or body shops that are local, but chances are they use rotary buffers.
As far as other OTC products locally, I have found that Carquest carries the Duragloss line, some advanced autos carry collinite, Oreillys carries a lot of Stoners products.
If you were a little closer I would give you a hand.

Doing some research for you. This place has orange pads and they are in Skokie. Not sure what brand they actually are, since they put their name on it.

Edit- Just did some more research and these pads and the cleaning products that they use look like re-labeled chemical guys products

Cool...my girlfriend lives just off 95th and Book Rd. so that place is right around the corner. I have never used adams products either, but its nice to know there is something available. Thanks for the info!!

I read (somewhere, maybe here?) that O'Rileys sells LC pads. They have their own name etc on the bag.

I'm sure not all of their stores will carry them. I say that because, the closest store to me just gave me a total 'deer in headlights' look when I inquired...not a clue what I was even talking about.

Good luck...

Bill
