I have become an enthusiast with coatings and removing defects on coatings once i bought a used 2007 Yukon Denali (Black). This was the first nice vehicle i have ever owned and am very proud of this vehicle and try to keep it looking great. The wife and I were inexperienced car buyers and went shopping for cars on a rainy day. Well, this thing looked beautiful and it also looked beautiful the day we picked it up, which also turned out to be a cloudy day.
About a week later, it was sitting in the sun and i noticed all the swirl marks and scratches in the paint.
I then started my research on these defects and solutions and have since purchased a Porter Cable, and have also been trying many different products to keep it looking great.
My wife also has a 2003 black Nissan Maxima with 250,000 miles on it and i have also spent countless hours with this vehicle.
I have also practiced on my brother-in-law's black tahoe and the in-law's Red Tahoe.
I have been thinking for a bit about trying to do some of this on the side for some side money, but i am continuing to practice, so i can feel comfortable charging for this type of service.
One thing i have found out is, how uneducated most people are about removing oxidation, swirl marks and scratches.
Anyway, i am going to be making a few posts here with some questions i have about products and techniques.
