Not sure about Duragloss #501?

There's a difference between correcting and cleaning. 501 is a very powerful cleaner, not so good at correcting. I always advocate to use the right tool for the job. If you need correcting, use a polish or compound that will do the job. (As mentioned, you always try the least aggressive approach first and increase the aggressiveness as needed). Follow that up with 501 and then seal it afterward. You will love the results.

I concur with Richy's comments on this.

Somewhere on my computer I have a picture comparing DG 501 and XMT 360...a picture before...right after using both products...and one photo that was taken one year later when all protection from either product is gone. The last photo taken one year later shows for certain that DG 501 doesn't have much cut, rather xmt 360 has more cut...which isn't saying much, but the photo is real clear which was the winner as far as cut is concerned for those that are asking that question.

Richy was kind enough to send me a sample of DG 501 and I wanted it based soley on his comments...it's cleaning ability.

EDIT:
I'm not on my computer at the moment, but when I can get back on it I'll try and post my photo's.

As a side note on xmt 360...

When all the fillers (for lack a better term...read protection) of xmt 360 & DG 501 I was quite astonished at how well not only xmt 360 cleaned the paint...as good as DG 501...but it also corrected enough to leave my taped off working area imprinted in the paint, plus it left good protection itself and wipe off was hardly anything because you work it until it's gone.

I was quite pleased with both products based on each products claims.

Here's the photo's I promised.

Ok I have some of this and so far I only used it by hand as a LSP.

I want it use it with a pad and DA to max out the cleaning abilities.
Would I work it just like a polish any d section passes on speed 4-6?
How long do you work it? By hand I wiped on-haze-wipe off

Also would I use this after a true polish? Or before?

I got a gallon of it on AMA**** for $11 so I will be using it often :-)

Yes you would work it like a polish.....a white polishing pad works the best(or a tangerine hydro which is what I use) around speed 3-4 on a da. You will need several pads (trust me on this).

Working in a regular section size about 4 passes will get it done.do 2 panels at the end of 2nd panel panel #1 should be ready to wipe and so on with entire car.

You will want to use 501 after your done correcting,ie compound polish then 501.

Now if you throw in some 601 mixed at 4:1(4 parts 501 to 1 part 601)the mix will flash cure so you can do 1 section then wipe and when the car is finished you can top immediatly with your favorite lsp or leave alone.

Hope that helps.

I used a green Edge pad (light cutting). Use it after polishing defects. I can tell you that 601/501 lasts about 8 months in Arizona. I used speed 2 on the DA as it is a cleaner not a compound. When I applied the 601/501 I made 2 passes ( up and down on side panels, front to back on hood.roof etc.)
