My question was wrong then, sorry. How do you use 85RD with a DA?

I use it like any other polish..I prime my pad with it..then I use 2 small drops for each section..for my paint since its soft i make 2 passes with medium pressure and final pass with light pressure and it looks fantastic. With harder clears probably would need more passes..I was using it on speed 4.5 on my Griots

Finishing pad? It's interesting that 3 passes (2 at medium and one at light pressure) at 4.5 speed using a *finishing pad* is enough to break down the diminishing abrasives of PO85RD.

I just used it yesterday as a followup to Menz 203. Applied with a 5.5" LC black flat foam pad on a PCXP at speed 5. Two passes with moderate pressure and three passes with light pressure. I love this stuff.

Most likely it's not. The best way to get everything you can from 85RD is to work the polish with a finishing pad (as mentioned above HT crimson or a LC black) thoroughly into the paint, until the abrasives are completely broken down. 85RD has an extremely long working time. You want to work the polish thoroughly until it goes clear. This is very important. When I use 85RD with a DA I generally spin it (with the Flex3401 @ 5 or the PCxp @ 5.5). I'll start out at 4.5 (Flex)[FONT=&quot] or 5 (PCxp), using only slightly more pressure than the weight of the machine. I'll do a few slow passes, and then bring the speed up a little, at this point I will start to move the polisher slightly quicker through the passes, watching for it to break down. When it's broken down it will go very clear...
