Jumbo's Engine Bay

Yes, on BC coilovers, 3 inches lower than stock. Tires are Yokohama parada spec x 255/50/20.

You are spot on about the 5AT - even though it's built, above 16psi it starts slipping. 450 is about as much as I would ask for short periods of time but that's me just being conservative. 400 to the rear wheels in this car is more than enough fun. If I had to eek out every last tenth, I'd start with lightweight forged wheels. Stockers are 38lbs each.

Also looking into a CF driveshaft - would save me something like 55 lbs of rotational weight. Drag slicks, maximum boost, take out the rear seats and subwoofer enclosure... I think I could touch 11s. The GTX37 series would be a bolt on upgrade for more top end. I've never really had that goal though - 200mph in a 4300 lb SUV is just asking for trouble.

I've seen a couple guys paint the lower trim to match the car. Looks really classy to me - think it is the direction I want to go.

Ahh, I thought so. Might be a longshot, but is there anyway to swap in the 6 speeds from the G35 coupes? If there was a way to slap on some drag slicks with that turbo maxed out wouldnt be surprised if you touched low 11s.

At first when you said 13.6 at 111 mph I was like huh? Then I saw you said FX35. Now thats sickkk! Such a sleeper haha. Good Job with making that car look nice too.

lol, yeah thanks! It's unique for sure. Most people don't realize it's not factory when they see it. Still plenty of plans though. Black mesh 22" wheels with polished lip, painting all the grey body trim to match the body, black out the two front grills and new tint on the front windows (to match the rear windows). Recently I removed the pinstripe from both sides and I have started trying to remove a dry-rotted clear bra. It's coming off slowly, but the paint underneath is pristine.

It's not my only car, however. But it IS my pride and joy, so I learn on my other car - you guys can guess from the engine bay below.

All my detailing skill has been learned on this car before applying it to the FX. Using the advice from earlier in this thread, I tried cleaning all the components in the engine bay. In this photo I have cleaned everything EXCEPT for the paint on the walls of the engine bay. This is cleaned with diluted Simple green and dressed only with quick detailer. There is a little wax on the black gold powdercoat peices.

240sx? Nice looking intake you have their. They make ones like that for the S2000 in carbon fiber and we call those whale penis' haha. They have a distinct sound to them over other intakes though.

Be careful with Simple Green on anything aluminum, if left to dwell too long it can discolor. You could alternativley pick up some Zep citrus degreaser from a home improvement store. I personally use CG Grime Reaper and dilute to the strength I need depending on the engines condition.
