Beware of this guy ^ and his cousin "I have a TON of cars I need you to detail on a monthly basis"

Your response to either of these characters should be the following:

"Wow!!!...that sounds great!!! but untill I see these cars you speak of, there will be NO discount" :nomore:

Hope this information will prove usefull to some

Flash ;)

LOL Flash, I hear this all the time from guys that are on car forums. They want their car perfected for free, and in return they will get all their forum buddies to get details. Problem I've run into is all of their forum buddies want to run the same scam to get work done for next to nothing.

I've become a big part of a couple good car forums that give me a lot of good paying work, but I've been roped into more of the other type, where everyone wants something for free.

This only confirms my suspicion that this is not just a local thing.....

:D

I have been asked "well before I pay you to keep it clean, I want to see what you can do. Can you do the car the first time for free and we can go from there?" Nope. Sorry hoss. I'd consider doing a test panel for free if I like you but thats it.

One ot the best things you can do is have a before and after album showing your work. If they are not happy with that then you don't want to do their car anyway. Freeloaders is what they are. Why would anyone expect something for nothing. Find out what they do for a living and ask for free service and see what they would say.
People just have no idea what it takes to do a car. You can work your A** off all day long and get about $15-$20 per hr. then if you had to pay yourself for your vehicle, mileage, Medical insurance, Medication, 2 wk vacation time a yr, 13 holidays you end up close to minimum wage.
Just my 2 cents.
Damn freeloaders!:nomore:

"Tell you what, I'll hold on to your money for you, and for each new client you bring me, I'll give you $10 back, you should have all of your money back in no time!!!"

I had a used car dealer try to pull this one on me.

Also don't believe their sister the liar, "It's really not that bad. It shouldn't take you that long."

Funny you should mention this ^ I'm going to make another educational thread later today covering this subject

I'm thinking of writing a manual on detailing so everyone will know how to handle this akward situations as they arise
