That's awesome! Seeing the progression and that final shot was rather exciting.

Shawn thats a sealed beam headlamp (glass) if you closely you'll see that the lamp has come apart from the adjustment screw which is common, and showing a shadow on the lamp. It's a quick fix!

not trying to be a smart arse here.

Wow... thank you all so much!! It really feels great to he able to bring this car back to where it is now and im very excited to get it finished up, i will finish polishing with SIP and LC orange pads, then move on to menz super finish and LC white pads... then (i have a trade pending right now for a sample of fuzion) fuzion with the gold jewling applicator. I was going back and forth on whqt lsp to use and figured after all the work i put into the car why not go with the best. Im glad you are all enjoying the progress as much as i am!!

It's been a unique project to follow along with you... watching the transformation of Barn Treasure like this is always fun...

That sounds like an great recipe for success for correction and finishing off of this paint... Be careful with the SIP and the Orange pad around any raised body lines as paint will be thinnest in these areas.

Good choice. Fuzion will be the frosting on the cake, it will build on all the results created previously and leave this 80's era streetrod glistening and shimmering...

How's your Dad liking the results?

:dblthumb2:

Awesome Thread Pat. Thanks for showing me this.

You really transformed this car and the results so far are amazing.

Wait til you get that Fuzion, I wanna see pics after that.

WOW! The Caribbean Queen is looking great

Hey Mike, thanks alot... you helped make this project possible... if wasnt for autogeek i would still be wondering why things dont shine by washing with dawn, a dish rag.... drying with an old bath towel that may or may not have been dropped on the ground 8 or 10 times then waxing with whatever i saw at the store.... getting great results keeps fueling the passion... his reaction when he saw it for the first time were "it looks really good" then he started to nit pick on the ding here or dent there.... i could tell he was upset with the condition of the car overall.... but he didnt say anything about scratches or lack of gloss... i was honestly hoping for a better reaction but i know how far it has come as do all of the geeks here so im happy with it... even if it wasnt what he was hoping....i guess it falls into a saying we used when i was in the Marines.... you can polish a turd.... but your going to end up with a shiney turd (in his eyes that is)

You're being too hard on yourself. It's looking really sweet for 30+ years old. Just go back to that first photo in the garage!

Thanks, i am proud of the progress.... for not even being totally polished and how far gone the car was.... im sure someone cam make it look better than it is... but you can drive the car and not feel like your driving something that the paint might fly off now lol...i just meant that in my eyes he was hoping it would be showcar new ..... and thats not possible without a paint job... but im very happy so far

NOPE! I disagree....you have more invested in this car than any one else! You have seen the condition first hand and you have poured your heart and soul into this car and you have done an outstanding job!

Your Dad may think that the vehical should have come out better But He needs to understand that it sat in more than undesirable conditions for a long time.

There are folks on this forum that would walk away from this project and say I can't do anything And I may have been one of them once I saw it.

Pat You have done an outstanding job on this car and I bow to your skills and passion.

keep up the great work!

shes looking really good now, bet some m16 will look good on her :P are the wheels silver painted or bare aluminum? if bare aluminum polish them up and it will really top it off nice.
