thanks alot.

Looks amazing, as usual! One question, did I read right that you compounded by hand?

hey man, whats up? yes you read that corectly. first round of compounding was done by hand. i pulled an ol trick out of my ass for this one but she worked, of course lol. heres what i typed up, saved it bc i know i would get asked this question...

well ive been using hard at it for dull white cars for my entire career now. i get a warm bucket of water & a cotton aplicator pad. dunk it, squeeze it, then apply hard at it directly to the pad & rub the car down. wash the pad after each panel or half panel or so. change the bucket of water when it gets real cloudy. wash out the pad & start over again. the hard at it removes most of the dullness & preps the paint for machine compounding. i would rather keep doing it this way than rely on another machine step & most likely have to use wool. i dont use wool pads in my shop, i left them at the body shop about 15 years ago. of course before my wet hand compounding the car was fully washed, degreased twice & clay barred up the wazoo!

if you have any more questions about this feel free to ask! :props:

thank you

Wow - that looks fantastic. The chrome muffler looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. Nice work!

Nice job on the detail!! I have a white honda that i have got from my grandmother that looks the exact same way. My question is when you use the "Hard At It" are you applying like wax and you just keep rubbing it in hard or do you just rub lightly with it? I am scared to use it because from reading about the product it is really aggressive!

Also does the "Hard at it" take off the clear coat or do you think that the clear coat is already gone with a car that looks like the one you did?

Thanks for your help in advance!

the paint is single stage so no clearcoat. In one of the pics, you can even see a puddle of milky liquid on the ground. I'm assuming it was taken during the "wet hand" compounding stage.

Nice job Andrew. It amazes me when a guy mods his car out but then doesn't bother to wash it or give it a coat of wax for over a year.

Some IX on that thing would probably have turned the entire car purple

wrong. the white puddle is actually from claying. look at the pics again. you can see some white paint transfer on the clay bar lol.

thanks!
