And by bang, I mean the sound the Windstar made as we bounced off a Chevy Tahoe at 70 MPH! UGH...
So we are travelling home from IA heading east on I-80, I notice I'm closing in on the vehicle ahead of, not at an alarming rate either. I check my mirrors, look up and bam there's a Tahoe directly in front of us STOPPED in travel lanes.. OH F&*^!!!! Hit the brakes cranked the wheel left took off the mirror the banged the rear corner. As soon as we were under control I pulled off on the shoulder. The Tahoe just drove on by like nothing happened. Luckily I had a hatchett in the back from camping so I cut the wires and threw the mirror in the back.
No we didn't report it because we didn't even think about it, we were more concerned that the boys and us were ok.
Everyone is safe and we made it home with no other "fun"
I tell ya it was a hell of a ride, one that I don't want to do anytime again.
