Im looking to get some Lake Country Hydro Pads. Is it better to go with 5.5 or 6.5? From what I can recall the smaller the pad size the better. Is this correct?

Yes. You will get better correction on PC, Griots with 5.5 pads. Flex DA will handle 6.5" pads but I found out they are two big for vehicles with curves. So for my flex I ordered a smaller backing plate and got 5.5 pads so I can get curves better.

With rotary-whatever pad meets the size of vehicle panels your working on.
With FLEX DA-The same.

With all other DA-The smaller the pad the better.

Thanks gentlemen....loudog2, on my Griots using WG and BF products

I think Loudog2 was asking, what machine you were using and not product(product is not relevent).
Thou the Griots6" has decent power-5.5" pads will be your friend.

My apologizes. Cant wait to get them, have cobra pads and they soaked up a lot of product. From what I read, LC doesn't soak up as much

I have not personally tried/used the Cobra pads but none the less,5.5" pads will give your Griots more rotational correctional power.

What' the life expectancy of a tangerine hydro tech vs a flat orange or flat white pad?

For cutting 5" pads, if you are using a DA other than the Flex, but for polishing, glazing, sealing, ..... I'd use 6" pad. The bigger footprint will get you there faster.

I like HT pads better, but I must admit the other pads (flat or CCS) last longer.

The flat pads are a lot better for a beginner. If you don't use good technique with the HT pads, they will be toast real fast. That said, they correct beautifully. Not better than MF, but they finish better.

I'm actually trying to decide if I want to stick the the Flat pads or try out the HT pads. Right now I think I'm just gonna stick with the flat pads
