Shampoo Dilution Ratios Table

Great idea, very useful!

However, I just pm'd the OP a correction for einszett Perls Shampoo and wanted to let you all know as well. On the product label it correctly states that it is 1 capful per gallon of water but incorrectly states that each capful is 1 oz. It should read 1/3 oz. Big difference!

Also requested if he could add Exclusiv Gloss Shampoo (available as of yesterday here in the US/Canada). It is 1 capful (1/3 oz) for every 2 gallons. If your water is not too hard, you can mix 1 capful with 3 gallons. More info on the product here: Exclusiv Gloss Shampoo (Autogeek should have it in stock and on their website by end of week).

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thank you!

Question if I put 1 ounce of shampoo in my foam gun and have it set on E whats the dilution ration your gettin out of that?

The more recommended common dilution for Maxi-Suds is like 1.25 oz per 4 gallons.

I had seen the 1 oz / gallon (used it myself) but saw CG said it is closer to the more diluted concentration. This is the problem when product makers give vague dilutions (capfuls or add a fixed amount and fill the bucket).

One key factor in pricing is pints/quarts versus gallons.

That's quite a contribution!

Thanks you for all the hard work and sharing it here for everyone to use! :props:

Thanks for the gentle reminder. I just checked on the CG web site and they say 1 capful to 1oz, and I remember CG said that their cap is 10ml on detailingworld before, so 1oz to 3 gal it is.

The table has been updated. I have changed the ratios for PBMG shampoos according to Todd or Nick's product reviews too.

What would be the effect or consequence if you make a very rich saturated dilution, like 4oz per gallon? Would it offer any wash benefit, or simply be wasted product pure and simple?

I made one similar about a year or so ago:

I would say it depends on which shampoo you are using.

For mild shampoo like 1Z, Autoglym etc, using a lot more than the recommended ratio will have no harm effect on how the product perform. You may get a lot of suds that is difficult to rinse clean. IMO you are just wasting the product and creating problem.

For soap like CWG, or some OTC shampoo, using a lot more than recommended ratio would harm the protection on paint.

For specific shampoo, you might want to check with the manufacturer.

Has Optimum Car Wash changed? The stuff I have says 1oz per gallon.

My bottle is about 2 yrs old and said 1 oz per gallon but most everyone uses 1/2 oz per gallon -- it is that good.

I think Optimum said that their car wash can be used at 1oz per 2 gal and it is still safe.
However they did not change the label on bottle.

Thanks. I read the table and then checked the jug I bought recently and the two didn't jive. I've been using less than recommended, but not the half ounce per gallon. I'll have to give that a try.
