I did this car over the summer. I'm no pro and just really enjoy detailing. After buying my black Vette I had to learn how to correct the swirls and small defects because they drove me CRAZY. I learned a lot from this forum and watching the videos. I bought a PC7424 and some Menzerna and learned by doing on my Vette. Well I got to the point where I could make that car look like black glass and after seeing it a friend/co-worker asked me to do his. Here are a few pics. Sorry the only 50/50 shot I have is of the hood and it wasn't taped for the 50/50 so the line isn't real clear. Hope you enjoy. The interior was in good shape so just got a quick wipe and vacuum (sorry no pics)

Main products used:

PC7424
Menzerna SIP
Menzerna Nano
LC CCS orange/white/red pads
Wolfgang clay & lube
Mother's back to black
Adam's VRT
Wolfgang DGPS 3.0

Again, where the construction barrel hit. It wasn't bad, a little paint transfer and some minor scratches. All clear now.

Yeah that's a Harley...

The finish shots aren't that great because the sun wasn't out. Anyway, I was pleased with the finished results. There were a few spots with some RIDS but I got the car about 80% cleaned up.

Looks great Vettes have one of the hardest clear coats I've ever worked with .

Yea they take some time to work on. Menzerna works great on the harder clears.

Looks fantastic. Newbie question what are Rids? Thanks, Spiney

There needs to be a page that explains all of the abbreviations for us new guys and gals. We feel like we don't know the secret handshake. Perhaps someone could do that and make it a sticky. It would be greatly appreciated.

Wow nice job. That thing really needed some help. Sheesh. I'm sure your friend was ecstatic though!

Nice work!!!

I realize that Corvette CC are sometimes known to be "stubborn", but pray tell:
What part of this Corvette detail process required the use of a :o dead-blow hammer!! :o

J/K...Finished product looks fantastic!

:)

That Corvette came out really really good. I love that Hood shot :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for the compliments..:xyxthumbs:

Just to be clear posts #5 & #6 are of my car. Different Vette, different color. Just threw them in to show off.. :D Mine was cared for from day one however, I drove it in every kind of weather but snow. I put 36,000 miles on in 3 years..

haha just about every part of this one ! It took me two days to complete. I was really amazed when I put the halogens on it to see how bad it was swirled.

Looks great! Love the color on it too.

Sorry about that Spiney. I should have spelled it out. I thought there was a thread somewhere with all the abbreviations, I'll try to find it.

Thank you..:xyxthumbs:

Here are a few more common ones:

DA- Dual Action
RO- Random Orbital
PC- Porter Cable
WOWO- Wipe On/Wipe Off
LSP- Last Step Product
IPA- Isopropyl Alcohol
MF- Microfiber
DD- Daily Driver
OTC- Over The Counter
There are also common abbreviations for specific products but usually you can figure those out.
