When is it to cold to detail?

Just a question for those of you who detail vehicles for a living. If you do not have a garage ... what temperature do you stop buffing out cars? I'd love to do my truck right about now but the temperature can range between 30 degrees between any given day which puts me at 20 degrees in the morning and around a high of 50 degrees in the afternoon. Thanks!

I don't do any correction in the winter. Unless they have a heated garage. I have done washes in the 30s though.

I tried giving my car a wash at 8am once when it was in the 60's.

I dont see how you guys can do it. I was fine washing the car but I couldnt dry it properlly. All my waffle weaves streaked.

Using a rinseless wash and hot water is about it during the cold months here in New England. Working in the sun warms the finish making it easier on the hands and for drying..

The high here on Sunday is forecast to top out at 18F so I won't be doing any detailing....

As long as it's above freezing I will work. If the water from my rinseless wash is freezing on the car even with hot water it's too cold.

To help with buffing when it's in the 30's or 40's I try to have the side i'm working on face the sun to help warm it up. Or place my halogen lights near it for a few minutes to heat it up.

I was going to say "whenever the snow is as high as the roof of the car".

But I think that Vodka freezing has to be even colder. BRRRRRRRR!

Okay two questions. How do u rinse less wash? I use a spray and just wipe off with mf, and prob leaving a few swirls behind . Second question is it bad if ice freezes onto the car paint? And do u know a safe way of getting it off besides scraping or letting it melt?

a few minutes ago i thought I was going to be tough and wash my truck... at 46 degrees... ehh unfortunately its going to stay dirty till next week when its supposed to get into the 60s. yay!
