3 Cars for Detailing Boot Camp

Saturn Vue
For exterior washing, the Meguiar's Microfiber Pad System, interior detailing, plastic trim detailing and glass polishing we have a 2003 Saturn Vue in dire need of an extreme makeover. This is just a picture off the web, I'll try to get a real picture tonight.

Corvette
For our exterior washing and engine detailing portion of the class I also have a white Corvette, this will get the foam canon and then the Iron-X treatment.

1967 Pontiac Grand Prix
For my paint polishing classes I try to get a very large car with lots of surface area for everyone to test out and learn to use the various DA Polishers. The below car is about 90% confirmed for our Sunday paint polishing class.

The convertible 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix was only made for one year, so they are relatively rare. You can read about the history of the 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix here,

I'll also have black hoods set up for sanding and buffing with rotary buffers.

Get ready to learn a lot and also have a great time!

:)

I adore the 67 GP rag top! It has been on my wish list for years!! Make her pretty!

I'll get some before shots, the paint is swirled out and has water spots, besides that it looks really good.

Should be a fun car to learn techniques on, huge vertical and horizontal panels.

I might call my friend Mike and see if we can use his 1949 Chevy Carryall, it has a custom paint job, bc/cc but it looks like it was finished out with only a rotary buffer and a wool polishing pad as every square inch of paint is filled with swirls. The only swirl-free spot is the area I buffed on the hood for our TV show.

It's also very large to enable a lot of people to get real hands-on training with the cool factor in that's it too is very rare.

Heck, maybe we'll do both...

Just confirmed the 1949 Carryall for the paint polishing class on Sunday...

This will be a very fun learning experience because the paint is absolutely thrashed with swirls so our students are going have a chance to really test their skill.

RE: 1949 Carryall...Right After Sunday's Make-Over Class

Dear Mike:

My enclosed car-hauler will be at the: AutoGeek "Loading Ramp", post haste. :D

I really like this one!! The owner must be proud.

I'll be sure to take plenty of before and after pictures of the paint and also the interior, it's pretty nice. The owner Mike has at least a dozen or more cars, some all original, most hotrodded...

We brought the Corvette over about an hour ago, I just posted some picture here,

As soon as the 1949 Carryall is delivered I'll take some pictures and post a thread for it.

Still a pretty nice C5, too.

Thanks, in advance, for the pics, Mike!
