Obscene shipping fees

No worries mate. I'm a little bit disappointed that nobody from AG has addressed our question in regards to possibly getting a shipping calculator :(

will there be any duties for the items using myus. i'm using a local forwarder with the following fixed rate. no limit on weight as long as it can fit in the box.

(23” x 16” x 17”) - $52.50
Blue Box (23” x 20” x 17”) - $62.50
Green Box (26” x 22” x 17”) - $75.00

but my only concern is the box normally arrives in 5 weeks

I believe duties occur on your end, not the USA side. You can probably find out what tax/duties are due by checking out your Government's customs website. Hope that helps :)

Who's your forwarder? Those rates look really cheap. Similar size boxes calculate much higher on any forwarder site I have seen. Eg hopshopgo, myusa, priceusa

Cannot do a shipping calculator since we use several methods to ship overseas. Calculator cannot make the decision like a humor based on what's in the box, how big the box is, value of box, and country it's going to. We provide the customer service aspect that a computer cannot do.

No disrespect but that's nonsense.. Other online vendor has shipping calculator and it does not make decision based on humor but on what us customers put in the shopping cart then based on our shopping cart the calculator gives instant quotes in both fedex and usps and if one option is not viable the calculator displays only the viable option ...

I don't speak for AG, but I respectfully submit that you are being too hard on AG as a retailer. AG sells loose/individual items of varying shapes, sizes and weights that are combined into a box. It's difficult to predict to a degree of accuracy what this box size and shape will look like given your random cart contents.

Of course, what most retailers do is to build in a buffer (i.e. overcharge for shipping) based on some arbitrary value. AG itself prices ground shipping in the US based on value of product shipped; we all know that shipping 12oz of Ultima PGP can't be as expensive as a gallon of OCW, but hey, you wanted certainty.

And Meghan probably had a typo there: It's "human", not "humor"

The "as long as it fits in a box" scheme and 5 weeks delivery period seem to suggest that it's ocean freight. MyUsa uses air freight I believe.

I did a comparison for shipping two bottles of 32oz of polishes and 8 mf pads between ag and another online vendor and the human generated quote by ag is still more expensive than the other vendor's computer generated quote and that is as you suggested already buffered/overcharged

AG is the top player in this business if their lesser competitor can have a shipping calculator why not AG ? I guess the question is answered.. But yes I admit for being too harsh English isnt my first language I thought Meghan made a sarcastic remark with the "humor" typo..My apologies..

I love autogeek !!! I love their customer service !!! I love that they; offer 1000's of products to choose from, offer an open forum to share ideas and to learn the skills of our passion, offer fun promotions and giveaways to their valued customers. Try ordering from Wal-Mart (worlds largest retailer) for shipping internationally? Please dont ruin a good thing. I love autogeek!!!

We ALL love AG and what they offer and their forums and customer service and yes it is a good thing. After all that's what brings us here in the first place.I don't believe anyone here would intentionally be trying to ruin any of that. I think us international customers are just trying to find the cheapest option to ship products by sea or air. Not an easy task if you don't know what your doing(ME) But i checked out 2 of the above mentioned sites calculators and punched in the same details and got a $40 difference. $40 that I could then spend on more product. $40 more also then goes in AGs pocket.I win AG wins. This topic has given me these options from peoples contributions and this is what I LOVE about AG.
KEEP THEM COMING.
CHEERS

NG008 - Please don't ruin a good thing? Huh? Feel free to start up your own "I love AG" thread so you can wax lyrical on how wonderful they are. In this thread, however, we are having a reasonable discussion about shipping. I don't understand why in every thread that is remotely critical of AG, someone feels the need to chime in with the "OMG AG IS DA BESTEST ONEONE!!!111ON!" rhetoric.
AG is a company, their reps are more than capable of contributing to the discussion. They don't need you to give them moral support.

Well, love is such a strong force .. as we all know!

Cool story bro. I love Autogeek too.

For me, I just want to know about sea freight. I don't mind waiting 2 months for my package as long as it arrives cheaply and in good condition. Simple fact is if I am buying product to maintain levels of what I already have, there is no hurry for me to receieve my new products.

If I could purchase through Autogeek with cheap shipping via sea (or some other method) I'd gladly do it.

I love autogeek in my own way.. Giving them inputs on what their competitor is up to so they can stay ahead of the game.. A company/person improves by addressing problems and overcoming them...with their competitors closing down and so many I love AG posts/threads all over this forum I guess AG already realize how much their customers love them

I am also interested in the sea freight options too.. Can anybody post their experience with the freight forwarders like shipitto.. How to fill up the forms and which services to pick will be helpful..

Amazon has some awesome international shipping prices, well certainly to New Zealand. Only issue is that they don't ship some items internationally including polishes, etc.

Gotta say, not having BOGO or sale items to international customers is a REAL stinger- OUCH!
