Preview: Hybrid Pad system (Lake Country)

Very nicely done as always. I agree that the colors, types, and claims for the various LC pads is somewhat out of control. I still use the old gray, white, orange, and yellow flat pads. I can keep track of what they do ,avoid confusion, and they still work well.

We break them into systems to try to avoid confusion, i.e Hydrotech, Kompressor, Hybrid...etc

The systems use different color sequencing from one to the next though. That's what is confusing.

Nick, we need these ASAP. I need some pads for my new business. I've tried them, and they are awesome!. The beveled edges are awesome on cars that have a lot of curves such as my Camaro. :D :props:

As always Corey; another amazing review. You seem to be able to always top yourself each time.

Your Camaro has lots of curves??? Looks big and flat to me... :poke:

Nice review. It's been about a month, any news on durability and how many cars you can detail with these? Also, from what I understand the Hydrotechs were developed specifically for water based products. Were these also developed for waterbased products? Thanks.

As usual great review from Corey!

Thank you!! :buffing:

I had better if I want to keep up with you and a few of our other friends!

Thank you!

I have used them on only two vehicles plus the testing but they all still look brand new. As far as being developed specifically for water based products I've used them with both and they work great regardless of the polish base. I also washed them in the washing machine to see what would happen and they all came out great.

I always used the HT pads with any polish I wanted as well.

great review Corey, but this review sort of reminds me of those videos where a car soap is being reviewed on a totally clean car and they say the soap works great but the car was already clean to begin with...
I see that the finish came out perfect but not so sure if it wasn't perfect to begin with since everything I've seen you own is in flawless condition like the Sky

he did say he sanded a panel with 1500 grit so it was not perfect

You got it! Thanks

What I really wish to know is how these white / blue pads will compare to the Flat and HT line from Lake country... in finishing regards on a very soft paint...

Is it safe to assume the white one will finish like crimson ?

Great review Corey.

"I don't like that the orange is heavier than the blue with this system while the blue is heavier than the orange with the HT system. I wish all Lake Country pad systems would utilize the same coloring scheme. In other words if one system only has 3 pads it would skip certain colors to keep colors in line with similar aggressabilitys (new word) of other systems. I do understand the fact that cut isn't the only measuring stick and people might confuse finishing abilities if it was done that way but just my opinion.... I'm sure many would disagree with me."

I agree 100 %, it's fine when you purchase them, but when place in a storage container it's difficult to know what pad is what. I know everyone say try a test spot.
A big time and product waster, because of
not knowing the cut of the pad.
