Hello folks! :dblthumb2:

I got the opportunity to polish a Toyota Vitz, dark blue, gorgeous in the shade. But in the sun, it’s very nicely filled with swirls and scratches.

Lacking definition, dull, no depth

:buffing:

I started with a test section on the hood, Makita, Menz 203s on LC white pad. Very little effect!

I moved to Menz PG on LC wool polishing pad. Results were nicer and less holograms than foam. Then, I found the swirls and scratches were hiding other defects such as long RDS, pits, and orange peel. I stepped down to Menz 203s on LC white with Flex DA. Results were superb, clear definition, no holograms and swirls, the deep RDS remained but were almost unnoticeable. Only the hood I refined with Flex, PO85rd on LC black. This was the most battered part.

Deep RDS remain, but they’re not easy to capture. Only noticeable from an angle, & with a detailer’s eye!

Pits and pores discovered while polishing. Wet-sanded 2000 grit, then continued.

Your comment and thoughts are most welcome and many thanks to all those who kindly helped me their advice. :dblthumb2:

God bless you all.

Very nice work Zaid! :props:

Those swirls were pretty bad, but you did a awesome job of knocking them out.

Awesome job. You really revived the paint on this one.

Nice job....!

Thanks so much for your kind words, buddies. I 've left half of the hood to polish so that others can notice the difference. God willing, I'll do that tomorrow morning. and do the interior too.

cheers :dblthumb2:

Awesome save on that paint!! That thing looked like it had been put through a swirl-a-matic for most of its life. yikes!

thank you for the kind words. :dblthumb2:

It's a strange island here: sea, sand. sun and swirls, very little shine except sunshine.

detailing is almost non-existent here.

salam bro
congrats another awesome detail

thank for sharing & pic well taken
I guess it must be canon

Cheers

Thats an ant?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'd hate to see what a spider looks like. WTF?!

Back to the topic at hand, you did an amazing job with that car!!! It looks fabulous.

HAHA I literally LOL'd

 the ant was moving all the time. it never came to me to record it. so that's the best pic i could manage of it.

I've never even heard of a Vitz but great job!

The vitz and the yaris are the same. these are 990cc car. in the US, i guess there are the 1.5 or 1.3 L versions

Zaid, I was clearing out some old PMs and saw a thank you PM from you with this link in it. Sorry I'm so late with my "You're Welcome", I must not have realized you sent it.:(

Anyway, you did an awesome job on that paint correction. With so many cars in need of detailing, have you been able to sell any detailing work there on your island?
