Favorite Car Song?

Love Sheryl and who doesn't dig the "King of Cool", Steve McQueen.

Sheryl's got a crackerjack band too, esp. Pete Stroud and Audley Freed on twin lead guitars.

Everytime I hear the beginning of this song I'm taken to a dirty parking lot of a hotel in middle of nowhere, the sun is rising and we're standing there about to hit the road for another leg of the trip...always gets me pumped up. Now I just need to car to realize this vision

You never heard of themListen to "Sonic Temple" first and go from there

Muscle cars and the Dragon don't mix unless they're Pro Toured...IMO.

No worries, I've found/gotten more into longtime artists lately. This past spring I really listened to Radiohead and Tool, more than the radio hits and really missed the boat on these 2

As far as muscle goes, well growing up in the D it's in my DNA but I like to go around corners now, although straight line speed can be fun (in Mexico). I had an 87' GN from 1995-2000 and modded it accordingly and had alot of fun along the way with it.

Radiohead and Tool are very very good. I listen to Tool quite a bit. As for the GN, I missed the boat on getting one. They’re just out of my budget for a second car. Always wanted one.

Without looking up the prices I would say a respectable one should be going for about $30000 right now

THIS right here is exactly what I would want if I could ever do it again. Buick Regal Limited w/WE4 code. In 1987 they made 1035 of them, could be ordered with cornering lights too. Make note of that interior

I would try to keep it as stock "looking" on the outside as possible but would look for a company who makes those turbine wheels in 17" to accommodate a BBK. The engine would be a built 4.1L, big turbo, built trans w/3000 stall and 3.90 gears.

You’re correct. An older gentleman about two miles away from me bought some c5 wheels from my FIL and they got to chatting. Since my FIL delivered the wheels to him, they began talking about some of the cars the guy owns. He mentioned one of his newer acquisitions was a GN and my FIL mentioned it was towards the top of my dream car list so he invited us back to check out his cars and just talk car stuff. He likes to buy/sell/trade, and he was around $27k on his GN which needed minor stuff.

The kicker is that he cannot drive any of his cars as he is legally blind beyond about 25 or 50’ if I recall correctly. He’s never driven that GN, or ridden in it for that matter. He had the seller of the GN deliver it to him just as he did with my FIL and the C5 wheels. I did offer my services as a driver . Especially his big block chevelle.

Have you ever driven a turbo Regal? If so, was the trans fresh?

Your right, never heard of them...who are they

With a good trans they go sideways and BANG 2nd gearThey ran high 13's/low 14's stock

Yeah I know they really make some steam with minor mods. My Camaro can get loose into second depending on the road. It always barks 2nd at full throttle, just sometimes gets squirrelly especially when it’s cold out.

Car markets gone up….. most 35-40k. 27k was a great deal. Though some can still be found for 30k. Would be a good investment.

The 71 chevelle (BB), this and 88 Monte Carlo SS (T-tops) are the american cars i lusted after in my youth.

Those MC’s are breaking the 20k mark.
