I am a new member here to AG but a long time lurker! I live and operate a full service auto detailing shop in South Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm originally from Southern California and lived here in NC for over 10 years. I have always been into motorcycles and hot rods since I was 4 years old and grew up riding dirt bikes, tearing motors apart, etc. I started in the car industry while in high school and right out of high school worked in a hot rod shop restoring them from the ground up mostly doing paint and body work. I got tired of being around the sanding, chemicals, etc and saw others who have done it their whole life with nothing to show for it but bad health and decided to step away from it some. I found myself more into the paint correction side of things and taking cars that people thought needed to be completely repainted and making them look better than new. That is what started me in the auto detailing field over 6 years ago. I still do the occasional restoration job on the side (cars, collectables, antiques) but NOT full time. I am always looking to improve my skills in detailing and business and this is one of the reasons I have come to the forums on AG, plus to help others out.
As for vehicles/bikes I own since I am sure you guys here are all car nuts, that list would consist of:
1946 Chrysler Windsor business coupe
1949 Ford Coupe (chopped, shaved and full 50's lead sled custom with too many things to list)
1966 F100 with built 351W and C4
1968 Lincoln Continental
1980 El Camino
2001 Custom Soft Tail with 115ci S&S Ultima motor/Edelbrock heads
1979 Yamaha XS750 Cafe Racer

As you can see, I am into mostly classic cars/hot rods but still do not mind working on new and exotic cars. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. I'm glad to be on a forum with other detailers who are as passonate about detailing as I am and with great knowledge.

Hey,
New guy to AGO as well, but I have zero experience. I do have a nice classic car... and trying to take in as much info as possible. Glad to see somebody from the area!

Hi Shawn,

Welcome to Autogeek Online! :welcome:

Cool. It's always nice to have members with a background in bodywork and painting as we often have members dealing with bodywork and fresh paint.

After I get my motor, transmission and transfercase re-installed into my project truck I'll be starting the body work for a custom paint job. I plan on doing everything myself including spraying the paint.

Nice collection. I grew up driving my Dad's 1965 Ford F100 3/4 Ton with a 390 and a 4-speed and also with a custom paint job and chromed out interior, wish Dad would have kept that truck.

Looking forward to your participation on our forum...
