Giving up traditional washing?

I've found the best of both worlds, its a hybrid wash. Maybe is should name it after myself, the SSWM. I clean the wheels traditionally with a hose, bucket, and wheel cleaner.

Them I pressure clean the vehicle with water(coin-op) or foam (home). I pretreat each panel with waterless wash, and wash it with rinseless GDWM style.

This way works just as good as a traditional wash, saves no water, and is much faster for me. I'll never do a rinseless wash without pressure rinsing the vehicle first, as long as there are coin-ops. Also, rinseless leaves less no water spots and more gloss IMHO.
 
I also will do a traditional wash when I can. I do not wash as fast as some using the rinseless. I end up pre-soaking and working slowly as I go.
 
I feel that if the car is not terribly dirty and you do the rinseless style of washing weekly, it's not a big deal. Now if you don't wash your car for a month and it's covered with a thick layer of dirt and dust, then I probably would want to hose it down first and do a traditional wash.

I never do rinseless even on a very clean car. I wash in as low as 35 degree weather. If the hose is completely frozen in the back of the house I will drag around the one from the front. I do however use rinseless wash solution as a lubricant additive in addition to the regular shampoo I use. For instance I use 1oz ONR with 2 oz Optimum Car wash with about 4 gallons of water.
 
traditional here. love to see dirt/ grit ooze out of side moldings with the pressure washer, and we have a ton of algae/mold and pollen here in Oregon.

Same here, this is the reason I adopted ONR. In winter I go to the coin-op, use some 3:1 OPC for the wheels area, PW the wheel area, quick spray under the car, lower panels, crevices, then the whole car, finally get home for ONR 2BW. I wash the car weekly.

I'm a bit weird out by the smell as well and believe it or not I believe there a variance of the smell made into a perfume, at least that's the impression I got when a random ladie went by me on the street the other day... or maybe it's ONR is playing tricks on my brain. :)
 
I prefer traditional washes although I must admit I haven't done many ONR rinseless washes. Not that I don't trust it but the few times I have used it I found it hard to clean my grill area, etc & just had this feeling that there was still dirt lurking in all the body seams, etc.
+ I had to pull out the pressure-washer for wheels & tyres anyway so once that's out & setup I may as well just do a traditional wash...

I do like that a rinseless wash leaves a nice, glossy finish & is spot-free so I can see it definitely has advantages but for me, at the moment at least, it's more for a very light touch-up than a wash...
 
I prefer traditional washes as I believe they do a better job and cleaning as weall as protecting the finish.... :props:

I agree with Bobby here. I equate rinselsess/waterless washes to a sponge bath. No water gets into the seems etc. I believe they do have their place though and can be very useful.
 
I still prefer traditional washes. To me I just feel l do a better job cleaning. I will reserve my rinseless washes to my garage queens.

I've used rinseless and waterless pretty much exclusively the last few months. When the weather warms up I might go back to the hose,but I might not. I do have quite a bit of traditional shampoo that I need to use up or give away.

I LOVE washing with DG 901 and Optimum Car Wash. They're outstanding car washes!

AGREE! i for one have not tried a waterless wash. there is no way any waterless method can get in every surface of a vehicle. and when a vehicle is beyond dirty, nothing is going to replace a bucket/hose wash.

I have a ton of shampoos but DG 901 and Optimum are my go-to washes as well! Great cleaning power (Nice smell too!)
 
For just road dust on an otherwise not so dirty car, Ive been using UWW+ the FK425 with nice results. I go through about 6 microfiber cloths in the process, but those are easilt cleaned with a sink full of woolite and water.
