Menzerna - New Names and Product Numbers

Menzerna has introduced all new labels and product names for identifying their products. I know it's easy to stick with what you know and change can be hard but the new product names and identifying numbers are here to stay so might as well make the switch when talking and typing about them..

No label change at this time for,

Hi Mike, as you had alluded to some time ago, FPII seems to have been dropped. Which of the remaining products is the recommended "replacement"?

Hi Mike,

I hope I'm not misunderstanding you but here's what I received from Jeff Silver.

PO87MC Micro Finish will be discontinued and replaced by the FF3000/PO85U Final Finish.

According to this earlier chart, FPII or Final Polish II is PO85U, that means it is now replaced with the FF 3000

I can get just as confused as anyone when it comes to product names and numbers.

LOL

87MC is (was) one of my absolute favorite products. I need to find a gallon fast!

confusing! What would be a good follow up for using after Megs 105?

It's really difficult because the charts keep getting revised. My recollection was that FPII had less cut and more gloss than FP. The chart you posted shows FP and FPII as the same product, PO85U, with MicroPolish as PO87MC, while the store chart shows FP as PO85U, and MicroPolish PO87MC with a red asterisk, which I believe used to footnote to "also known as FPII".

Your chart and the store chart show different cut/polish levels for both products, just to make it more confusing. It would almost seem that the PO85U has been reformulated in the FF3000 version to make it more of a replacement for PO87MC, is that correct?

There are so many variations of the Menzerna charts that have been published over the years I'm never sure if it's due to actual changes in the products, mistakes, re-evaluations of the products, or re-evaluations of the cut/finish scales in the wake of new products (kind of like how the Meg's scale went from 0-10 to 0-12 when the SMAT products came out).

You know this as FPII, right? I was really asking because I know you and some others swear by this as a finishing polish on soft paints.

I like the new naming system, looks like I am going to re-label my AG bottles with the Menzerna products in them!

I suspect it's a business (not techical) decision....marketing.

Me too...

It's more uniform and consistent... it should make new additions to the line easier and maintain a uniform and consistent look and branding.

Yes sir! FPII is a phenomenal product that I reach for often. I'll find out later if the replacement is good enough. :)

Will Autogeek carry Menzerna's new Fast Gloss? My M105 is almost gone and I'm looking for something to replace it.

Mike, I blame you for the name change. I had all the others memorized. Back to square one!

Great question Shane. I hear it is very good.

Also, any chance the old label bottle will be on a nice clearance sale?
