Blacklight Question

BLACKLIGHT users - how long have you waited to top it?

I have varied it. I have topped it immediately with a nuba, immediately with V7, and waited till the next night or next day, and topped it with a nuba or V7. To me, there was no difference. They all look fantastic. Maybe there's a difference in durability, but durability is not a concern to me, nor do I care about it. I detail my cars a LOT.

isn't BL an AIO?

It does stain trim so to me that means it has cleaners which might take off your glaze, especially if you use a machine to apply it.

CG even says to do the second coat of BL by hand, probably to minimize removal of the first layer of BL...

This is interesting. I never thought it stained trim??? I accidentally get it on the rubber/plastic exterior trim sometimes, if I'm not uber careful or if I forget to tape up before application. But I always just wipe it off. Maybe it stains because some folks let it sit there for weeks on end before wiping it off???

Anyways, here's some pics from yesterday of Blacklight underneath V7.

What do you guys find is better with BL? A polishing pad or finishing pad. I plan on using some to prep my Nova for an upcoming show.

The answer is it depends. When I am using BL as a finishing polish, and sealant base all in one, I go with a gray pad, with pressure, speed 6. If I am using it as a pure glaze sealant, then I use a red or blue pad, speed 3.

Either way, it will look and feel great.
Man!!! Just gorgeous bud! :Picture:
Did you mean me, Corey? If so, thanks! If not, sorry! :D

I'm going to jump in here with a question. I just did my Black car with the Wolfgang duo and put some WGDGPS on . Can I and would I benefit from putting Blacklight on over those products? It sounds like a great product.

Thanks,

Larry

It would be a better idea if your going to put WGDGPS on top of BL, since BL has mild abrasives it may remove WGDGPS if you opt it with BL.

I am learning a lot, but I am also a little confused. I read people like to use black light + V7 + maybe another LSP such as a nuba. Is the final LSP necessarily? Or is it just for durability? What does the V7 throw into the above equation, I read it was a sealant also. Do these layers all have protection of varying degrees? :hungry:

Forgive me guys but i don't know what Blacklight is. I tried looking it up on auto geek and can not find this product. What exactly is Blacklight?

In CG's website, they will say it is neither a sealant or a glaze it is some sort of hybrid of something, but for our purpose of discussion, lets just say it is an AIO, it can clean the surface of your paint, provide added gloss like a glaze and leave a protection like a sealant. down side is its durability, if you are going to use it as a lone LSP. What V7 does is it makes the flakes pop, added clarity and additional layer of protection. If you want to prolong the Blacklight effect, applying V7 every after wash will do the trick or topping BL with a durable nuba. this will add depth to your car's finish. Hope this clears something at least from your understanding. :xyxthumbs:

Ok, I finally used Blacklight today on my wife's car, and this stuff is flat out AMAZING!!! Here are a couple of pictures

Newbie here. I clayed polished with Meg's 7 glaze and topped it off with a paste wax. I would like to use blacklight. Do I have to do anything to remove the above or just go ahead and use th BL?

I used CG Citrus wash, then clayed and rewashed to strip everything off.
