My brother noticed how I was always looking at the griots DA on AG and making a cart on what to order. Well yesterday he surprised me with one. All he wants is for me to polish his car:) sadly he didn't get it from AG, but it's a present. Looking forward to using it! All I need now is everything else!

P.S is it normal to just all of a sudden get the urge to just turn it on and just hear this powerful motor?? :D :D

congrats on the new tool, all you need now is a 5" DA backing plate and (5.5" foam) pads and you're good to go...

Yes congrats. I bought one for myself at Christmas along with the Maguiar's DA MF Kit. But I too need to order a backing plate and 5.5" assorted CA or is it CL pads. Not sure what pads to get. Along with Wolfgang dgps and probably Colonite for a LSP. Also need some grit guards and more MF cloths. Then the fun begins.

I love my GG6, works great with the MF pads as well as 5.5' foam, have fun!

+ clay, compound, sealant/wax.

I need everything, from grit guards, to better MF towels, I currently use samsclub MF and two cheap buckets for the two wash method and an absorber to dry the truck off. I also have turtle wax that will degrade and collect dust :)

Congrats on the gift!

Does anyone know if there's anyway to convert the 6'' orbital to accept the three inch back plates? I'd hate to buy another machine just to get some small areas.

They make a smaller backing plate that is a direct fit and allows you to run small pads...I did that and it works great...just can't recall the specific diameters.

All DA Backing plates we sell at Autogeek.net use a 1/16 arbor and will attach to any of the DA Polishers we sell.

We don't sell the 3" backing plate that comes on the 3" Griot's Mini Polisher separately but it is a very nice, "small" backing plate.

We do sell the Megs version...

thanks so much for the response. Do I need an adapter for that meguiar's unit?

Yes, and don't worry, it'll get much worse!

I like Menzerna polishes and this is a great bundle to try.

If you'd rather by locally then the following products work very well.

No, it comes with a selection of threaded studs to make it a universal kit. Choose the right threaded stud and tighten. If you want to be extra careful add some Locktite to the threads.

That's another option, thanks for tracking down and adding the link.

Thanks so much Bobby, my truck needs quite a bit of work, ( helped pull a guy out in the desert and scratched up the whole truck..) was thinking I might need the Meg's MF system. Then since AZ is so hard on paint, top it with OC.
