STAY AWAY from Air Compressors Direct!

if any company doesn't have good customer service and doesn't back up their products, they're not getting my hard earned $'s. it's a shame they didn't try to go out of there way to help you and especially in these hard economic times...
 
Sorry to hear about your air compressor!

I just got my pressure washer from pressure washer direct yesterday. No problems with that so far but I didn't try it out yet. I was browsing on their air compressor site also looking to get one in the next few months. After reading your post I won't buy from them again.
 
imo id never buy a compressor that is directly driven to the pump here are the reasons why, the noise is way higher, the power and cfm ratings are usually way off and are at MAXIMUM before the motor/pump blows, will it be running that constant? doubt it.and the fact that the pump motor housing is cheap diecast aluminum throws me off. id rather spend more money on a USED belt driven cast iron belt driven compressor then a new compressor..something with a cast iron pump. thats belt driven will last longer, way less noise, higher cfm ratings, true horsepower ratings(even on the cheap ones). harbor freight has a few for a decent price and craigslist is a great place to find older but still in excellent working condition compressors. as they say dont judge a book by its cover, most used compressors will look like poop, but dont let that throw you off judge on how it runs!..

The only 219 harbor freight compressor had half the CFMs.

Oh and STILL waiting for ACD to pick up their broken crap.
 
Update: it's now Monday. I've called twice. Apparently they are awaiting authorization from the manufacturer (speedway) to pick up the broken POS from my house. Speedway has not acknowledged them at all. At this point, weeks later, PED should pick it up, refund me and sort out the details with the manufacturer themselves. Definitely not dealing with these clowns again.
 
^^ Wow sorry about your luck buddy! It seems speedway is the issue but PED really should buck up and take control of the situation and not making it "your" situation. This sounds so typical of things that happen to me. I am sorry to hear man. Hopefully sooner then later this gets cleared up for you!

Oh I agree. But PED has done their share of dropping the ball. From their crappy customer service to me having to chase them down every day for info.

Not trying to make you feel any worse about the situation but this reminds me of one of my personal credos. Any company can have high customer service ratings when things are going good. Its when there is an issue that a true customer service-oriented business will shine.
