Pro or hobbiest?

Paid hobbyist, I wont do more than 2 vehicles. I do correction and Opti Guard. Then apply Permanon when they come back. I get clients to go to a nearby touchless before they come to my house. I get $200 for an average vehicle. This is Mad Money to buy more detailing toys!

Why apply Permanon after you have applied Opti-Guard?

A Professional Hobbyist with an attention to detail. While I don't charge for my work I do accept payment in services such as auto repair, firewood, electrical work, dinners etc. I do accept tips which always cover the products I use. Family, friends, and word or mouth bet I pick and choose what I work on...

I detail to relax. I enjoy working with my hands and making a car or truck look better than new is very satisfying. I enjoy explaining everything I do in order for the vehicles to turn out the way they do and I'm never surprised to hear folks have no idea how much work goes in to a quality detail...

Hobbyist, however I will say with a high level of confidence that most of the people on here myself included are far more of a professional than the detail shops in my area. I don't think owning a shop makes you a professional.

Hobbyist. Will do family and friends cars if they ask.

Another hobbyist here. Like others have said, it's a form of therapy and a great source of satisfaction when all is said and done. Would love to have a paying customer or two, but unfortunately very few of my friends or relatives see the value in doing anything to their cars other than drive them.

Hobby for me. Although I've spent enough to start a small business! Well, not really, but pretty darn close.

im just a guy that spend too much money on this stuff. feeling like an addict. the only people that can relate is you guys.

Just trying to keep the vette looking good and survive cleaning the dd's

I'm not sure if I am a hobbyist or enthusiast because I don't know the difference. I don't detail for money but the amount I spend on products and equipment could outfit a small army of pros. I got into this obsession to keep the vette looking good. After two of Mike's weekend classes and many purchases, I keep the DDs clean and detail for my wife's real estate clients. My theory is that if you don't charge, no one can say "you missed a spot" or why is this so expensive.

Hobbyist. Maybe one day a Pro. Don't have the physical setup I need to do the jobs I want (high-end cars). I'm in a prime location though, L.A. baby!

It's what I get paid to do but I love to do it, so I think of it as a hobby that someone's paying me to do, like a professional athlete :)

Al, the Permanon provides the look and feel of glass that OG lacks. OG feels like and looks like new clearcoat. Permanon adds the WOW factor without altering the hydrophobic and dust repellancy OG adds,

Hobbyist for me. Although I seldom do other people's cars.
