Anyone ever use chemical guys eco pod???

THe more I keep looking into this and going Green / Eco Friendly with my business the more this seems to be the right choice..

But as others have questioned.. Is this really worth the 500 bucks or Should I buy a more reasonably priced pump sprayer that will do the same thing for less $$$

I wonder why CG is charging so much for this thing.

Does anyone have the MYtee? althought the one for 499 is the main one Im looking at Doesn't seem to make much difference which company I go w/ if Im going to pay that kinda $$

yea im still hesitant to by one, still wondering if it is worth the cost or if a pump sprayer would do the trick.

Ok what am I missing? Here is a 1 gallon pressure washer for $15.00. Fill if with distilled water mix in your product and go wash/detail cars.

1 gal. Premium Sprayer-1101HD at The Home Depot

My guess is a 1 gallon set up will wash 3 cars depending on conditions. Looks professional. Store another gallon or two in your vehicle and the wash part should be covered.

Initally I liked the CG pod but it's too expensive. The other alternatives were appealing but bang for the buck seems to be something like this 1 gallon sprayer.

I agree with what your saying to a certain degree. Although This may be the route to take I still wouldnt want to stop and pump by hand ... I like the CG eco pod due to the battery powered use and It does have a professional use to it vs. being mobile and the client looking out the window and watching you pump a handheld sprayer and apply your wash and him questioning what he's paying a pro detailer for.. However the more I look into the ECO Pod the more that price just seems downright crazy and seems like it should be more like a $199 to 250 dollar product.. MAX

I'm starting to search for alternatives that don't require you to pump of hold like a handheld but aren't crazy expensive like the pod.

I wish we could get about 5 or so AG members to offer say 200 bucks each to CG and see if they would cut some type of deal and a realistic price for this pump sprayer.. I feel like with the pod your mostly paying for the 20 hour battery pack

CG isn't going to respond to a 5 piece quantity order. I 100% agree with you but I bet CG had a fair amount of R&D they are looking to recover. I'm not concerned about pumping a spray bottle. CG, AGO and others all have pressure spary bottles for sale some for about $50. It's the end result and time saving techniques that matter. My guess is pump a sparyer up once and it will last for a car. I've been doing it with the OEM spary bottles so far but CG sprayers are the worst. I'm speaking of the ones that come with the 16oz product bottles. I've never had ONE last for an entire bottle of Eco Wash. Love the product hate the sprayer. Hence my interest here.

$500 is nutts, $300 is still high; $200 I'd be convienced to pop, but $15 for this sprayer dunno hard to pass up and try out. Headed to HD tonight.

Still open to suggestions.

CG does not make the ECO pod. All they did was put their name on it. It is made by Masterclean products it is called the penguin 200w sprayer. It sells everywhere for $499. It is much nicer than a garden sprayer. The hose is 25 feet long. I can place it halfway in the middle of a 40ft motorhome and go on the roof of the unit and do all 40ft of the roof with the unit still sitting on the ground. Many times I never even take the pod out of my truck, The hose will reach around most cars. I have never seen a garden sprayer with the spray pattern like the ECO pod.

Let me know how the HD sprayer works out for you. I am most interested at how much psi the HD unit runs at. I think the eco pod is around 80 so it can poweroff some wheel grime.

The pressure is what interested me. They are between 50 to 100psi depending on what model you're looking at.

I bought the 1 gallon pump sprayer $7.00. Worked out great. Shot a iPhone video but had trouble emailing it. Guess I need to synch it over to the laptop. I'll see if I can post it tomorrow.

Here's my issue unless your washing cars in volume I can see spending $300-500. I doubt any of them spray at high enough pressure to power off wheel grime. I prefer detailing to washing.

The sprayer can do many cars. The spray can be adjusted from fine to stream. I only did the hood and fenders because rain is expected tonight.

As others have pointed out waterless has a place but not for everything. Just another tool in the arsenal.

The home depot pump sprayer seems to work fine on wheels.

Do you guys think is easy to build an eco pod by yourself?

this actually looks great!

Yeah It's a online order only. I was hoping to stop by the local HD and buy but I went ahead and placed an order for one... If it sucks.. I'll just return it.. But a great way to no spend 500 + bucks on the ecopod

I will do a review upon arrival

Wanted to bump this thread, one thing that I'm curious about for this is how many cars can you clean with 1 bottle of their eco stuff? The 1st video on their page the guy says "you can clean 4 cars with 1 16oz bottle" then reading the product page

Uses less than 16oz of product to detail (not simply wash) an entire vehicle.

then a couple paragraphs down I see this:

A single 32oz of Ecosmart will mix with 5 gallons of Di water in your Eco Detailing Pod to deliver 60-80 complete details

Now my math skills are horrible, but if they claim less than 16oz for *1* detail, how the heck's 32oz going to work for 60-80? This isn't exactly a small discrepancy. Realistically how many washes should I expect from a 1 gallon hyper concentrated wash?
