Foam cannon and DP shampoo

I just bought a black Tundra and invested in all the good stuff for cleaning. I just wanted to ask a few questions and run my routine past some of you guys for advice.

I got a Karcher pressure washer and the DP cannon and shampoo that AG sells. I plan on pre rinsing with just water from the pressure sprayer and then following up with the shampoo. I would spray it top down first then let it set a few minutes. I would then follow up with another layer and use my Supima cotton mitt to agitate the surface using the 2 bucket method. After all that I bought the CR spotless system and will be doing a final rinse with that then using my leaf blower to remove excess water. At this time is when I would use my product on the paint and I chose Zaino.

My concern was if the DP shampoo is safe enough for Zaino and wont remove it. I called Zaino and he says its safe however the pressure washer may remove the wax if pressure is to great. I figured I would keep it a few feet back from the surface of the paint but also imagine the cannon has a new nozzle on it that I would hope is meant for cleaning cars and reduces the pressure a bit.

So basically I want to know if the DP shampoo is safe to use and if it sounds like my wash routine is good or needs some tweaking. My method involves all things possible to remove any surface dirt/dust prior to touching the paint. I chose DP shampoo because its supposed to work best with the foam cannon but I am thinking the Zaino car wash might have been a safer bet.

What do you guys think and what is your experience with DP shampoo?
 
First off, welcome to the forum!!! Make sure you post an introduction thread.

Reading through your method, I would rinse the foam that you sprayed for the presoak instead of letting it sit and then wash with two bucket method. I say this because it will dry onto your car. IMO you should let it dwell for alittle while and then rinse top down and then proceed to your two bucket method.

I've been using the DP Extreme Foam shampoo with my foam cannon for awhile now and I do not see it stripping my wax at all. Here is part of the description on AG's page:

So you dont wash the car with leaving the spray foam on it? I dont mind spraying it twice. Once to lift loose dirt off and another to remove stuck dirt. The second time I planned on leaving the foam on there as to lubricate the paint before touching it.

Perhaps after the initial foam I will rinse and then apply the foam again 1 panel at a time while hand washing with the 2 bucket method.

I am just worried about the water drying and leaving spots so maybe I will have to switch to my CR spotless after the initial foaming. This way as I work 1 panel at a time even if the water dries it wont spot.
 
I feel you on the water spots...I HATE it!!! Pick up a canopy from sears. They are currently on sale...I need to get another one because I washed my car Sunday and ended up with water spots all over it.

IMO its overkill to rinse, foam, rinse, then foam again. I don't rinse the car off prior to foaming it. I just hit it straight with foam first, then rinse, then move to the two bucket wash method. If you're washing out in the sun, you're gonna get water spots.
 
I thought of the canopy but then I saw one get taken by the wind and slam into a car while I was at PepBoys. They had a canopy to drive under while the service guy came up to help. It jacked the car up pretty good so I am not risking that thing taking my car out if the wind comes up.

I plan to wash very early AM or Late then back it into the garage to detail. I used to just wash in the garage and direct the water away from the walls but with a sprayer it wont be possible.

You could tie the canopy down
 
So is it not wrong to use all Zaino product for the paint and use DP for the wash?

I had this idea in my head that everything needed to be the same brand and am scared using the DP shampoo will ruin all my hard work?

What I am looking forward to with the DP foam cannon and my CR spotless system is doing a fast rinse to rid surface dust and not risk rubbing it into my paint using detailer spray. I read up on the methods to do it safely but still wiping a dry panel with dust on it using detail spray for a black car scares me. I figure 30 mins with my pressure washer foam cannon and Cr spotless followed by a leaf blower will safely remove all surface dust and allow for a clean surface to use detail spray on between waxes.
