Any tips on working with Porsche Paint?

I'm doing an 08 Cayman this sunday and realized i've never worked with porsche paint.

any tips or tricks? The car is black.

They are pretty straight forward.I know on a black one I did the mega mf marred like crazy. I ended up using men pf203 & would use a yellow b&s pad and finish with a black b&s. Then I hit it up with a white buff and shine and po85rd and they car wad dripping wet. It was super swirled to begin with.

Just approach doing your Test Spot using the least aggressive product approach.

Dial in a process that works to one area and then duplicate over the rest of the vehicle.

Mike is right on as always. Porsche paint is nothing really special. Treat it as any other paint with your test spot and you will be good to go.

We bought ours used.I Clay Bared, Megs 105, 205, Menz po85rd, Wolfgang Sealer, Pinnacle Souveran wax. Pleased with results. The brake dust is what is terrible on the car. Still trying things there.

On really soft black Porsche paint, I've had GREAT results from 106FA and PO85RD, both correcting and finishing nicely in one step. Some food for thought.

The brake dusting can be maddening on Porsche's, especially factory pads. I changed over to Pagid pads and the dusting is a lot less.

check my posts , i did couple black porsche
the paint is on the soft side. sip and 205 worked for me.

Yep, the Sport blues.

Not sure about the Cayman but IME all the Porsches Ive done have really soft paint and also very thin paint.
