In response to the most under rated products, got me thinking, what are the most over rated products you've used / you were disappointed with and why?

Cobra micro fibers: especially considering the price.

Griots Speed Shine: ho hum at best.

Expensive pH neutral wheel cleaners: not much better than concentrated car wash IMHO

Almost all Wolfgang and xmt products. Collinite 845. And for god sakes 205!!!!

I just got a Cobra "Guzzler" 20 X 40 and a Cobra glass towel. Given the hype and their high cost, I'm not impressed. I have a some old glass and drying towels that appear to be just as good, and some new towels that are better or the same quality at a lower price.

Most recently, I bought PakShak drying and glass WW towels. The PakShak 24x36 drying towel is at least as thick and soft as the Guzzler and is currently on sale for $14.50. Even at the original price of $17.95, the PakShak towel is a better deal than the $19.99 Guzzler.

The Cobra glass towel is significantly lower quality than the PakShak glass towel (which is made of the same fabric as their drying towel).

I recently bought several "Chinchilla" towels, which I don't particularly like and are very pricey. They are very soft and plush, but are difficult to control. I.e. too soft and mushy. I have some other towels like the rolled edge towels from AutoGeek/Autopia: http://www.autogeek.net/super-soft-microfiber-towels.html and some PakShak ultra plush towels MICROPAK 16" x 24" Ultra-Plush Micro Fiber Towel which I like much better. The PakShak towel ultra-plush are especially nice - extremely soft.

Regards,

Dan .

p.s. All of my towels have been been washed before use.

i recently got the cg miracle absorber, it looks big and plush i the pictures, when i opened the box I said.. "that's it?.." lol however I havent gotten a chance to use it, but it has a lot of hype to live up to

I have two of the miracle towels. They're basically a larger version of the 16x16 super towel with the dual pile weave. I think they do a fine job at drying especially for rinseless washing. I only need one of them to fully dry my car when using ONR. For the shipped price being about $15 cheaper than cobra "drying" towels they're certainly worth it.

you think I'll have a problem drying a vehicle with one?

Not exactly, I've done it with a standard wash before too. I would say it was a little too loaded to fully finish the car so that's why I have the second one. If you're doing a truck or SUV you'll need two for sure.
