other detailers ad confusing?

I am researching my market in my area and notice most say Buff and polish oxidation, this cant mean that they use a polisher right? it seems too cheap for only $100 for an exterior. here is an example of what they include. From my understanding you can only polish out oxidation and surface scratches with polishes and compounds right? those prices seem misleading to me

Exterior Package - $99.00 & up

  • Hand wash vehicle
  • Clean windows
  • Clean fender wells
  • Wheel treatment
  • Buff and polish out oxidation and most surface scratches
  • Hand wax

It depends on what they mean by "buff and polish." THat could be what they call a one step "correction" with a wool pad and rotary. If that is the case, it can be done very quick and cheaply.

If they are talking about two separate steps, yes that does seem a bit inexpensive but location may be a factor for prices in your area.
 
Depending on the shop too and their quality of work, it could be they are using a glaze type product to hide the swirls and stuff. Can be applied via a machine pretty quickly.

You can always give them a call and talk to them about they do in their buffing. Products they use etc.

Yes, it's probably some glaze applied by wool pad and rotary. That same wool pad that they've been using since 2009 that has never been cleaned. If the customers are lucky they don't put the rotary with the pad face down on the concrete.
 
This is something I've wondered too. A lot of customers say they want a "buff" and I always have to clarify what they are looking for exactly. Usually in the end they want a 1-step correction + wax/sealant but are let down that I don't do it for $100 lol After I explain to them that my premium service comes with a premium price they understand a bit more. I used to try to really sell customers on different things. But since I don't do this full time its not important that I'm constantly busy = making money. In the end I tell them this is my price, this is what I do and either my services are for you or their not. I have those places in my are that offer the "buff" for $100 and when they want me to price match I just tell them to go their then lol but in a nicer way.
 
I called and ask about the process, apparently they use a wool pad with professional products according to the girl that answer the phone. but she couldn't tell me what products lol
 
says 99 and up..are you sure that $99 actually includes the buffing? or is that an added option and goes up from 99
