Does anyone here play chess?!?!?

When I am up late and responding to AG threads I am also playing chess at yahoo..... anyone else play?!?!?! I would love to play an AGian - I must admit that I have to play very fast games (2 min/2 sec) or else I will either get very board or fall asleep in the middle of the match - any takers?

I'm lucky to play checkers let alone chess ha ha. Actually, I've never played the game or had anyone offer to teach me.

Now, a good game of old fashioned marbles and it's on. I had a grandpa who used to be dang good and he taught me how to play when I was a kid. It's been awhile though...hard to find anyone with marbles anymore...even when I was a kid in the 80's the game had all but died.

Pretty good at pitchin' quarters too. How long has it been since you did that?

I did the marbles thing until I lost my marbles lol..... being poor growing up, loosing your only real "toys" sucked lol - so got out of that game quick! I remember being super jealous that the kid down the street had the Ninja Turtles Blimp..... the blimp did nothing, but it was way cooler than my marbles lol. Anyhow - I taught myself basically how to play chess..... pretend that you are unable to leave your house for a year - - - - what do you do?!?!?!? Well, I decided to learn chess lol - played and lost many times until I figured it out. In a year and a half period I got addicted and played a minimum of 10,000 plus games! Im addicted :/

Yes, marbles was FUN...Us neighborhood kids played round-robin at different houses...Home Rules, know what I mean. LOL

Answer: Yes, I used to play Chess until we moved to a different School district...That was over 50 years ago.

I've played on Yahoo chess (on and off) since about 1999.

I play speed chess too (mostly 1/0 to 5/0). I used to be pretty good but in the last few years I've only played a few times a month.

I started out with penny's and then became good enough to challenge the rich kids...then I got caught and got suspended. LOL!!!

I hardly ever play. But when I do, I usually take forever to choose my moves lol. I usually lose to lol.
