Any opinions from someone who has used both?

Is BFWD worth the extra money?

both are excellent, both have good durability, you can get bfwd as a sample for free with a $50.00+ order and try it see which one you like best.the sample is enough to do more than 1 vehicle.

Wouldn't you have to include the 601 bonding agent with 105 to make the comparison fair?

Durogloss products do what they say. For durability and cost. It's Duragloss.

You can even add Collonite 476 or 845 for extra long longevity.

BFWD cost more and I can see no difference. The money saved can be used
to buy more products.

I currently use both products and love them both! Because of how many layers I put down I can't comment on durability but there are some differences I've noticed:

1. BFWD doesn't need a bonding agent added to it because its already in the bottle, so its a little more convienent that way.

2. BFWD tends to dust up a bit but not too much to be annoying.

3. DG is cheaper, doesn't dust up one bit and has several options for your needs.

4. In a pinch you can get DG at your local CarQuest (when you don't have an order placed with AG)

I wish DG could sell its spray sealant in the U.S. as I really wanna try it out, so there's another advantage that goes to BF.

This is a great question and it might just boil down to personal preference.

Blackfire

I've used both products on several vehicles. Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection is further boosted with Polycharger for maximum shine, slickness, and longevity.

Blackfire Wet Diamond is a gorgeous sealant and lays down super smooth and easy. I've been applying it with a dual action polisher and either a blue or red foam pad. When Applied thin hazing is nearly instantaneous and can be buffed to a glossy shine in just a few minutes.

There's very little dusting if applied thin but like most products, if it's applied too thick what doesn't stick will need to come off and here's where it can become messy.

Blackfire Wet Diamond isn't cheap but it does a great job and keeps the finish looking great! :props:

Duragloss

Duragloss 105 is more of a 1-step because it contains cleaning agents. Apply Duragloss 105 with a dual action polisher using a white foam pad and you've got yourself one winning combination.

When using Duragloss I like to prep the finish using Duragloss 501. Duragloss 501 contains more fine abrasives that Duragloss 105 TPP therefore is does a much better job at prepping the finish. Duragloss 501 can also correct minor swirls and like finish defects.

Duragloss 105 TPP is more is a sealant than a cleaner so I like to top the 501 with 105. sometimes I like to add the bonding agent prior to adding Duragloss 105 TPP.

Duragloss 601 Bonding Agent works with Duragloss 105 TPP improving its shine and durability. Is it required prior to applying Duragloss 105? No, not all all. If I had to compare it to the Blackfire product above I'd consider it a Polycharger.

Note:

One thing that applies to both: Surface or finish preparation is 80% of making the last step just good or absolutely stunning. Regardless of how good or expensive the last step product is, if the surfaced it's applied to isn't at its very best then you're really wasting good product....

I'm always a bit bemused when people say BFWD dusts for them - I'm not doubting what they're saying, but I've never had it happen to me.

Because your applying it correctly (thin).:props:

i just dont understand why folks dont just try the DG products. all u need is $30.97 (smallest sized) to purchase 601, 501, and Aquawax.

Is the BFWD this?....BLACKFIRE Deep Gloss Spray Sealant, spray wax, paint sealant spray

if so, then it says it must be applied every 7-10 days on top of a sealant. sounds a lot like DG AW.

BFWD per gallon is $$79.99
DG AW per gallon is $$34.99

Maybe i am just rambling cause this sweetwater 420 and yuengling is getting to my head, but cost wise, DG is a must and the durability is ridiculous.

try Duragloss and all other products will go to the back of your detailing cabinet and your wallet will be heavier.

THis is BFWD. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, paint sealant, synthetic sealant, blackfire sealant

I am a huge DG fan too, been using it for years. But Blackfire is awesome. Just one coat of BFWD provides a deep nuba like shine and awesome protection.

I love and use both of these products and maybe I have applied BFWD a bit too thickly before but to me, I do the same thing every time with every one of these products and so far, NO dusting with DG products and not every time with BFWD, hmmm.

I too don't understand why DG isn't one of those "it" products here, maybe the word just isn't out there for it for some reason, but I know this, hands down it has impressed me the most as I wasn't expecting it to perform like it does, I expected BFWD to and it has, BIG TIME! I've almost gotta flip a coin to decide which product to layer when I feel like it. Since I've just gotten the DG #101, I'm going to use that, with PBA added, after I clay and polish out this S2K on Monday, then I'm going to apply a coat of #111, leave it on for an hour and then spray AW over the top of the dried #111 to remove/add another coat of protection, love how this method finishes!!!

Because they don't spend a lot of money on advertising and marketing gimmicks. Plus I think some people dismiss some of the products because of the low price. There are lots of people who associate higher price with higher quality, which isn't always the case.

thank you for specifying! DG is a the most post effective. but if you try the BFWD and love it, use it often!

i actually enjoy mixing my DG products. i feel like a mad scientist in the garage! lol

That's so true, hence all the threads about expensive products we have here on AG, LOL!

I still wanna see that spray on sealant from DG:props:

Ill have to call them tomorrow then.:xyxthumbs:

I believe that 105 is durable on its own. Even without the 601, it may be outlast BFWD.
