Re: Best tire shine and wheel cleaner

Mothers wheel and tire cleaner is one of the best, as for tire shine cheap OTC is black magic, good online is cg vrt, I want to try PERL

Re: Best tire shine and wheel cleaner

Surf City is good as well

A A Extreme Shine (liquid)

This stuff is so good, I got the guy that I buy all my supplies from locally to start using it

A A turns out very good products quantrary to what you might read on the forums

As far as APC, Castrol Power Clean or Purple Power mixed 50/50 are but safe to use. If you have aluminum lugs, they will corode after awhile (4 years or so)

How does the mothers compare to the eagle one?

I use Mother's Tire and Rubber cleaner for tires and Wolfgang's Black Diamond tire shine.

For wheels i use chemical guys diablo gel. For the tires i either use a APC. To shine the tires i use the same thing i use on trim and thats chemical guys g6 hypercoat.

do you use a foamer with the diablo gel?

I use Meguiar's APC+ at 10:1 for dirty wheels. I usually seal them with Collinite 845 and then they only need to be washed with soap and water. For tire shine I use Chemical Guys VRP. I love this stuff for tires. One coat for a slight sheen and two coats really make the tires stand out.

DP Tire Gel - no sling like WG and lasts a lot longer, plus less expensive.

Eagle 1 A2Z is still great, but I give the edge to Mothers Foaming All Wheel Cleaner. As for tire dressing, the biggest problem is that most OTC have in fine print - May Stain Plastic. I really like Surf City Garage Beyond Black Tire Pro. I prefer to spray a micro fiber applicator pad then swipe the tire for no mess, drips, or over spray. Maybe check out Mothers VLR. Some Auto Zone stores carry Meguiar's Mirror Glaze line so you could pick up a bottle of M39 to clean tires and M40 to dress them.

both the AA tire shine gel and E1 tire shine gel (used it when it was in the regular silver bottle, and now it's in the enviroshine line in the green bottle) and both worked well. one bottle lasts a long time...

I have the E1 green bottle. Work great and smells good too

Up until recently I was using DP Wheel Cleaner for both the wheels and tires followed by Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel. But the other day I ran out of the Wheel Cleaner and needed to use some Meguiar's APC to finish one of my cars. The Meguiar's worked just as well as the DP did, so I've switched to that for wheels and tires. I can't say enough about the BF gel, it seems to last foreever and gives a nice finish without a ton of shine (just the right amount!).

i use the eagle 1 wheel/tire cleaner. no issues. works perfect.

megs hot shine tire shine aerosol. lasts and no sling.

Eagle One has been in my arsenal for years and it does do a good job at cleaning wheels and at a good price. I recently tried Griot's HD Wheel Cleaner and really, really liked it. It is safe on all wheels, which is very important to me, and it cleans very well (the reddish tint is just icing on the cake). I buy the gallon and wait for a 15-20% sale with free shipping.

I like my tires to be very shiny (unlike many here) and so I really like Black Magic Tire Wet Foam. It's under $4.00 and it performs double duty---it both cleans and shines. I have tried most of the OTC tire cleaners and this is my favorite.

I did try recently Blackfire Total Eclipse Tire Gel and was disappointed by its longevity.

Meg's hot rims all wheel cleaner the updated version works really good I love it. As for tire dressing OTC I really like the Meg's hot shine tire gel.

You might find SC Beyond Black at a local Walmart. I prefer to buy boutique products like Opti-bond however.
