For a gallon of gas....that's ridiculous!!!

Here in Australia, well in my area anyway, the average is currently hovering at about $1.50AUD per LITRE for the cheapest stuff available.
My car requires premium which is around 10c extra per litre.

From a rough conversion that's about $6 - $6.50USD per gallon.

The cheapest I have seen in a LONG time is around $1.20AUD p/l ($5USD p/g) for cheap stuff...
 
Here in Lisbon (Portugal), today, for regular fuels:
Gasoline - 7.93 USD/gallon;
Diesel - 7.19 USD/gallon
The prices of the premium versions are 70 or 80 cents higher.

Got gas yesterday for $3.06, here in Chicago yesterday. The minute that they issued a blizzard warning, gas jumped to $3.29.

The last few weeks have seen a huge drop in fuel prices here in Los Angeles.

87 octane 3.29
89 octane 3.39
91 octane 3.49
100 octane Rocket race gas $7.95

Premium here is almost always .24 more than the low grade and mid grade is .12 more.

That's a big difference where you are at.
 
Just got regular here in lovely suburban Chicago for $3.15/gal.

* I use winn dixie's fuel perks almost every fill up, and on my latest fill up i had $.30 off per gallon, so it ended up at $3.29!
