Waxaholics!

If time/money permitted, I would love to visit FL.

Thanks, Bobby. You're always knowledgeable, always supportive. :props:

Seriously, if I want to relax I'll do some detailing.

Detailing is somewhat therapeutic. It requires physical strength and endurance and believe it our not you get quite a work out. Combine all this with a finish that literally glows afterwards so how can you loose?

Pro's

  • Exercise
  • Stress Relief
  • I'm proving both the finish and your personal appearance
  • Protecting your investment and maintaining it's value
  • Building knowledge and skills
Con's

  • Time consuming
  • Moderate cost
  • Neighbors and friends will laugh and criticize you
  • All of a sudden you'll have many new friends wanting you to do their cars and trucks

PRIASE THE LORD !!! I feel ur pain. I to am a waxaholic...3 cars and not enough time :)

I am retired and enjoy cleaning and working on my cars. My wife gets compliments from the Gate guards all the time when she drives into the base. Neighbors laugh and say I am nuts.I look at it this way I worked 33 years for the military and I deserve to do what I want now. I went thru Prostate cancer so each day now I do what I like.

Nuts maybe , But I enjoy each day I luv the smell of wax, detailer ....

Welcome to the group! We suffer from an affliction that is often misunderstood; an invisible disease (until you see our cars!). Believe me, I heard all of the put downs by those with less pride in their rides - stuff like: "If you continue down this path you're gonna rub all the paint off", "If you buff it too much you're gonna go blind", etc et al. These negative comments only strengthen my resolve and drives me back to the carnauba jar.

I see no problem with you taking care of your new ride Hammer, look at my sig, I bought my car on Sept 10th 2011 and live in the mid-west and don't have access to a garage:dblthumb2:

What's wrong with having a good looking vehicle? It's your time and your money, and yes I do think it's a form of therapy, and a darn good one to boot.

The people who say you're nuts are just jealous.

My name is Hammer. I am a waxaholic. In the beginning, I started out just being happy with washing my car. Then I graduated to cheap over the counter waxes. I would just wax once a year. Then, I bought a new car. That is when I fell into my present addiction. I wash and wax my car 2-4 times per week. Oftentimes I wonder if there is a world's record for coats of wax applied onto a single vehicle. I feel anxious if my car looks the least bit showroom. Oh the glimmer, the shine, the radiance! I feel most centered, therapeutic zen-like when a sponge applicator is in my hand. Mmmm, the smell of the wax coupled with fine microfiber under the shade from the warm sun tingles my sensations.

I'm Hammer, and I'm a waxaholic.

Everybody on this forum has OCD (I mean, CDO - let´s put the letters in their correct order...). So, you are among friends...

Jealous of wasting wax? D@mn you caught me!

I'm right there with you, though less on the weekly basis. My garage is full of furniture right now, and it is driving me nuts to look outside and see my garage queen sitting in the pollen, dirt, and rain.

My father had it BAD! He was allergic to carnauba wax. By the time he finished his T-bird, his face would literally be swollen. So maybe this addcition is all genetic...

welcome to the club buddy. I'm an addict as well. I have no issues putting 2-3 different sealants on my car in one given week. Good to have you.

So what you guys just like Seal/ wax ur car
Drive it a day or 2
Give it a wash? And put another layer of wax? O.o?

hells yeah. I do it for different looks. I also detail out of my car so I like it to look good. of course I realize this is overkill...

Man i wont even lay any wax on my car unless i clay or polish or paint cleaner....
Im too worried that i will put more scratches in the paint

really? I think you might be going overboard there...and that's coming from me.

Mr. Miyagi would be proud...........wax on wax off.

no need to clay or polish before you wax, not every time. once or twice a year at most.

I feel ya brotha!! I clean my car every two days or at lest vacuum it out

My name is Chet, and I'm a waxaholic. Hahaha. Not as bad as Hammer but I agree

that it is therapeutic and nothing beats a freshly waxed car! I love an early

morning pot of coffee, my Challenger and a jar of Fuzion. Wax on my friend...Wax
