Waxaholics!

Hey, I'm not trying to bash, but you guys that wax your car twice a week, did you ever think all that rubbing during wax application could actually cause scratches, marring, or excessive wearing of the clear coat? I mean, if you wax twice a week, that's about 100 times a year. In a perfect world there would be no dust or dirt on the paint or the applicator each time during the whole process, but we all know the world isn't perfect. We also know that, depending on the applicator and the paint, that some clear coats can just visibly scratch from wiping them with foam or microfiber, depending on a lot of variables. And, even water applied on a foam pad using a DA has some cut, as remember, aggressiveness is determined by pad and polish. Could all this waxing be prematurely wearing out the clear coat? Also, are you doing a 2 bucket wash prior to each wax? That would mean in two years, you paint would be rubbed down by a micro fiber applicator or foam applicator and a wash mitt 200 times! Does anyone consider this could actually be bad for paint?? Also, just wondering, when you switch up to different waxes, are you stripping the old wax with something, or just applying a different wax on top of the old? Comments appreciated. Thanks.

I always do a two bucket wash prior to waxing. My spare tire mobile has been clayed, polished, and sealed prior to waxing. I've already been warned about rubbing all the paint off.

Bob, I'm still collecting donations for some dope boy rims. Do you need my PayPal addy?

LOL! Amazing someone would buy these. A vegas thing.

I actually like the look. Has an old school feel to a modern look.

Maybe you can throw down on a 1/4 mile and take someone's purty wheels off their hands. :)

spare tire mobile. nice.

as for rubbing off all my paint I'm not sweating it. will either opti-coat, cquartz, repaint or just buy a new car by then.

I one stepped my hood today with xmt 360. Not sure about the level of cut but man can that stuff bead! It's pouring in mass right now so i'll have to re-coat it when the sun comes out. maybe some supernatural hybrid or pin-sov.

I only ONR my car. Sometimes if i'm at my parents house I'll give her a dawn wash but I live in an apartment so I don't have the option to use a hose.

p.s. speaking of all-in-one's I used Need for Speed on a black Expedition today. That is by far my favorite. Great cut and great looks. Not sure about it's durability.

I use 2 buckets with grit guards, Foam applictor for my fuzion.

Like I said, before all else make sure your do your paint correction then enjoy your glaze, wax, fuzion or spray detailer.

You have to get your paint ready for the multi coats of whatever floats your boat...:buffing:

Honestly, I love the black steelies on the Camaro. I know I'm in the majority, but they look so cool. Total throwback to the 1st gen Camaro's. Sure the big and flashy 19" and 20" wheels are nice to look at, but something about those steelies...mmmmm

Bob is that real? You own those!? Willing to sell any? I have peeling going on with my factory clear coated rims.

I agree, they're badass. +1 for less bling and more rubber.

My girlfriend says I should go for the pandas. "They're soooo cute!".

Do they come in a 5 lug 120 mm High Positive Offset bolt pattern?

Those roulette wheels are straight up pimpin'! I definitely can see those on an old Caddy drop top.

I actually have no idea how to post a picture on here. Never done it. I do know how to change my avatar though!

When you click to reply to a post scroll down, under "additional options" there is a little box that says "attach files", click on "manage attachments". A pop up will arrive and from there you can browse the pic files on your puter to upload. Make sure that the file isn't larger than 640x480.
