Stupid things your customers have asked

I got one, a client of mines had major clear coat failure on the roof of their car. The clear was already gone and down to about half the base coat. After the single stage correction was done on the car, they inspect it and points out to that oxidized spot. "I was under the impression that you would be able to remove that." To which I responded, I said I would inspect and test out the spot. I dont think theres anything left to "remove", but a repaint is in order if you want it to disappear.

At least it comes off easily with acetone nail polish remover! Haha, Hmm....need to find matching blue polish for my car..

Have a friend asked for full correction. I said can you leave it for a day? Ill try to finish it as quick as possible. He replied, a day? what are you talking about? I could have an auto car wash staff do it in an hour or two. I was like ughh... Ok... I needed to educate him about detailing.
 
Man you guys have some GOOD ones. Pretty much all my best stories go like this . . A-"How much to fix my paint?" Me -"Whats wrong with it?" A-"The clear coats coming off" Me-"You need a body shop for that" A-"I thought thats what detailing was" lol
 
I have never detailed for profit. But one of my neighbors asked me what it would cost to do her car. I frankly have no idea so I said 50 bucks. And she said "Thats all? I would pay you more". LOL alright, if you wanna pay me more thats fine by me. I would have done it for 50. I never did do the car though.
 
I had a neighbor who always drove his truck up to his mailbox to get his mail. One day he didn't close the door on the mailbox so when he drove off it raked all the way down the side of his truck. He pulls up and asks me if I can fix a spot on his truck so I go out to take a look to find the whole side of the truck has one huge crease down the side of it. I kinda chuckled and said nope it's kinda out of my league. And he was suprised!!! The scary part is this man is a retired county judge. Lol I could write a book on this stuff.
 
Hahaha! Too funny! Not really a customer comment but i just can't get enough of the "you can do mine after you've done that one" from passers by. Like its the funniest thing ever & i haven't heard that before! :applause:
 
I don't consider any questions as being stupid.

Stupid is when you know the truth yet refuse to acknowledge it.

they always focus on shiny tires wheels interior more that the paint it self :buffing:

They say that and they don't ever stop by to even get a quote yet continue to say that ish each time they see you. I call them clowns because they say it with a big arse grin ...they want it done but don't want to pay the price for it.
 
I'm always intrigued by people that don't understand that a clear coat is paint. It's not a magical coating on the paint, it's simply paint without pigment, thus the word clear.

I'm also intrigued by people that think swirls and scratches can be removed some magical way that doesn't include removing some paint, for example they think using detailing clay can remove swirls and scratches.

What kills me is that even AFTER educating and showing them they still don't believe you.

I saw a dude last year whip into a parking spot backwards and wiped out his entire L Quarter Panel on one of those poles that hold up a concrete canopy

I know it wasn't right of me, but I lmao when I saw this
